Hi my loves!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far! Remember to continue to stay positive, keep the good vibes flowing and continue to vibrate higher. Some days can be harder than most but just remember that all your hard work will all be worth it in the long run. Trust and believe the process and journey!

For this entry, I’m talking all about fashion, strength and body confidence . To me, fashion, strength and body confidence goes hand and hand. When you look good, you feel even better. You know the saying, it’s all mental and its’ all in the way we think about things. Practice self love and be your own cheerleader. A positive mindset can go a long way. A strong mindset goes a long way as well. Stay strong even though it can be hard at times, keep fighting and keep pushing through.

Many of us forget to love ourselves and the skin we’re in. This is the result of being constantly put down by others, or we listen to what society dictates. We then start to criticize ourselves we begin to self doubt. STOP RIGHT THERE! Most of us fall into the demise of others words, and what media and society standards are on how we should be and look. We need to learn to block it all out. Easier said than done, yes I know, trust me.  We’re all created different for a reason, remember that.  When we learn to accept who we are both on the inside and out, we start to believe in ourselves, our self worth and we begin to love ourselves as a whole. We must block out the noise, the nonsense and begin to hear our own voice. Listen to that voice, own it and believe it. Don’t listen to the nonsense. Be the voice not the echo of all the haters out there.

Over the years, I began to say, Screw that, and f**k all the haters. ‘Cuse my language my loves, but I’m being real, completely honest and straight up as I’ve always been. I’ve learned that people will always have something to say. There will always be critics. But just remember, strong is always beautiful and confidence is the most sexiest thing that anyone can wear. Trust and believe that, it’s an amazing feeling and extremely powerful. For me, I have had my share of being picked apart, and body shamed over the years.  At times, I thought I wasn’t pretty enough or even beautiful. Whether we like to admit it or not, we all have our share of insecurities, me included. We need to stop focusing on the negative and focus on the positive. We can’t let our insecurities define us, because if that happens they will run us. Remember, never let self-doubt or your insecurities define who you are, EVER!  I’ve worked in the Entertainment, Beauty and Fashion industry for over 11 + years and I’ve seen what this industry can do to one’s self-esteem. I’ve seen first hand how it can damage one’s soul and make you feel insecure about your body image. Which makes me even more inspired and empowered to write this and share with you my experiences. Which is why we need to love ourselves in every way shape and form. We’re all beautiful in our own way. Never forget that!

We tend to forget ourselves and how beautiful we really are because we feed into the nonsense and the noise. DON’T FEED INTO IT.  No matter what anyone says, we have to love ourselves first. Remember the childhood saying, Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me…. Words can hurt, but we have too look beyond the words and look within ourselves first. Sometimes, we can be too hard and too critical on ourselves. We need to be more gentle and kind. Live and learn to love ourselves and the skin we’re in. Never forget that my loves. I know it’s easier said than done. Trust me, I’ve had my struggles and doubts. I’ve had haters say things to my face about how I look. But you know what, you will always have your critics. They will always have something to say. Honestly, that’s a reflection on them and their own insecurities. We need to learn to lift each other up, be more compassionate with ourselves and others and not put each other down. Be kind to yourself and be kind to others. Kindness goes a long way, trust and believe that.

For me, I’ve had my share of body image issues. But, I will say, I’ve learned to love myself and my body just as I am. I’ve owned my own beauty and sexiness and I can truly say that I love me and I’m comfortable in my skin. I’m may not be the skinniest Filipina, I have curves, I have big breast, a big butt, but hey this is me and I love my body and my curves. I own it all and I’m proud of it. This is me and I love the skin I’m in and so should you!  You will never fit the mold of what others and what society says, but why would you want to? Be you and be authentic always.

Beauty comes from deep within. A women’s true beauty is reflected in her soul. When you have a beautiful heart and soul it shines from within and it shows on the outside. Love yourself my loves, don’t let the media or anyone tell you otherwise. Learn to be comfortable in your own skin, treat your body like a temple and own it. You are in control and you have the power. It starts from within, remember that. Remain positive and block out the negativity. I know it’s easier said than done, but no matter what others say, believe in yourself that’s what matters and that’s what counts.

Find the your inner strength, own it and be one with it. Your strength will help guide you in everything you do. Believe in yourself, and own it. Be your own kind of beautiful and show the world that you LOVE yourself and the skin your in. Own your curves, own that beautiful body because you are beautiful both on the inside and out.

If I’ve learned anything in all these years, it’s to love yourself first and foremost. Embrace your body, every inch of it. Be gentle with yourself, be kind to yourself. It’s all mental, that’s what it boils to, change your mindset, be positive and let your confidence shine. Keep shining my loves. Ok, I may be rambling at this point, but the point is to love yourself first. Don’t succumb to what other’s say, remember you are beautiful. BE comfortable in your own skin. Confidence and strength goes a long way. Confidence is beautiful and sexy.  Own it and be your own kind of beautiful. Always remember, you are strong, you are confident you are sexy and you are beautiful. Love the skin your in my loves!

Positivity, Confidence, Strength and Self Improvement

Posted on: August 30, 2017

It’s a new day, new week! In this post, as I’ve always been authentic, honest and open to you all, this post will give you more insight on me and what I’ve been struggling through lately. I also want to mention, that at this point in my life, I believe that in this current state of being, I’m trying to transform myself into a better person overall. Not to say that I’m not a good person now, I know and believe I am. But we all can find ways to improve in ourselves as a whole.  I believe that with transformation, change for the better is a good thing. It may be scary and challenging in the moment. But change within oneself is good, and its good for the soul as well. I believe it can strengthen your mind, body and soul.

In regards to my blog, I still want to and plan to inspire, empower, encourage, and enlighten you through all facets of life.  I’ll continue to empower you while also giving you more insight on my life and me, but ultimately my goal is to strengthen myself, and I hope to continue to do the same for you all as well through this process. I firmly believe in this, while maintaining a positive outlook on life accompanied with a can do attitude, anything is possible. I truly believe that. In doing so, I’d also like to take you on this journey of mine of self improvement.  While I continue to do all those things, I will continue to learn, grow and evolve throughout the process. For me this is a time for reflection, healing, renewing and finding myself again in more ways that I ever thought possible. My goal is to become a better version of myself while continuing to meet my goals and aspirations. I encourage each and every one of you to do so. It can be scary but remember, you are trying, and that’s the first step. Never stop trying to be a better version of yourself, it can only help you in the long run.

What I’m about to tell you may shock many people, but I’m being even more open with you and myself.  I’m bearing myself to the core. Which at times as been a challenge for me. The first step is admitting it, grasping it and willing to change for the better. Finding perspective, and a better sense of self to ultimately feel renewed as a whole.

In the last couple of months, I lost a sense of myself. I started to lose my strength, faith and confidence due to certain things in my life. No one is to blame but myself for allowing myself to feed into insecurities that we all face. For me, I believe myself to be a pretty strong, confident woman, but sometimes I to can falter. Which is what has happened.  But I feel that I’ve found a sense of maturity and humility in admitting that to myself and to you all.  I started to doubt myself and I allowed my insecurities to overcome me. I’m human, I’m not perfect, but this has to be the lowest point in my life right now.  In turn, I didn’t like what I saw in myself,  I knew I needed to make a change. During this time, I’ve been able to reflect and see all these things.  It’s given me time to reevaluate, reflect on everything that transpired in the last couple of months.  Today, I looked at myself in the mirror and I saw ME. I started to recite these affirmations to myself:

I am Bold

I am Beautiful

I am Brave

I am Confident

I am Courageous

I am Capable

I am Strong

I am Enough and I will Never Give Up

I have the strength, to renew myself and my faith to become a better version of ME

I am by no means perfect, I am a work in progress. We all are, every day is a chance to start again, and start anew. Everyday I find myself getting stronger. I believe that tough times and struggles can make you a stronger person. I just continue to believe, remain hopeful and keep my faith that it will all get better soon.

As I recited that to myself, I felt myself becoming stronger. I know this won’t happen overnight, but it’s a start, it’s a process. But I believe in it and I have faith in it. I believe and can see a change in me. I feel that this will be a good thing overall. It will in turn strengthen not only myself but other aspects in my life as well. I want to encourage and inspire you all to do this for yourself. Even when we may think we don’t need to improve, we all can find areas for improvement. In the long run, self improvements can be helpful in many ways. It’s good for all of us. Believe that, and believe in yourself. This has been the hardest post to write, but it’s real, it’s honest and true. I truly believe we are all a work in progress, but I truly believe we all can benefit from this. I know in myself, that it’s been beneficial for me to see myself and see my confidence and strength come back. Join the journey with me, and take time for yourself as well. Remember, self love is important too. See what you find, and how it can help you as a whole and in your life.

I’m believing in the process. With hope and my strong faith I will trust the journey and I know I’m committed to change. As well as find that renewed strength and confidence in myself as I did before. This post is by no means to boast, or whatsoever. It’s a means to share a little more about myself, motivating myself and all of you at the same time. To provide some positive affirmations that have been helpful for me and that can be useful to you too. Remember to always  know your worth, your purpose and true potential.

Always remember to stay positive and optimistic. Don’t be too hard yourself, because at the end of the day your trying your very best. I believe that I am trying my best and I’ll continue to work very hard at it and continue to push through. It takes a lot of courage to stay strong and push through during tough times, but in the end I know I’m becoming a stronger person daily, and I believe and I have faith everything will work out. I believe in you all too!

I hope you found this post helpful in some way. If ever you feel lost, or doubt yourself look deep down inside.  Reflect and remember we are all human, we aren’t perfect, we all have our flaws. But we can find ways to make improvements for the better. What I’ve also found for me that has been helpful is: reading, staying close to my faith, singing, listening to music, putting my energy into my businesses, working out, taking walks and writing have been very therapeutic and beneficial.

What are ways that have helped you pick yourself up? Please do share, I love hearing from you all. I truly believe when we share ideas and thoughts we in turn can help one another become a better version of ourselves.

Have an amazing week loves! Continue to stay motivated, inspired and empowered. Much love and blessings to you all.

As always, thanks for reading, following along and joining the journey!

Her F/W17 collection illustrated her ethereal theme with a more fierce upgrade. This season she continued with her statement long flowing dresses that not only compliment but empower the female body.  While also incorporating more chic styles with a more bolder, fierce and strong presence. The theme for her collection was resurrection, illustrating recycled materials and older fabrics in an effort to minimize the waste used in the fashion industry. A beautiful collection that illustrating and alludes to the ideas of a scorn woman that’s standing strong, bold, empowered and fierce. Aveda created the hair and make up looks for the show, showcasing a bold and vintage look paired with a pop of color on the lip to match. In the audience, you saw a mixture of celebrities, influencers and tastemakers who came to support and see her newest collection.  Spotted in the crowd were: Phaedra Parks of RHOA, Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, Sammi Giancola (Jersey Shore Alums), Emma Myles, Brec Bassinger, Actress Malea Rose, Reginae Carter, Miss USA Deshuana Barber, Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere, Blogger-Ellese Launer of Rock Paper Glam and many others.

grey FRESH WATER pearl-earring-1-500x500

Recently, while looking through Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook during my daily fashion patrol for: latest trends, style, etc… I stumbled upon this unique jewelry designer Christine K.  And I wanted to learn more about her jewelry line. I contacted her PR company in hopes to work and collaborate with her brand. I instantly became enamored by the look of her jewelry. I mean what woman doesn’t love chic, sophisticated and unique jewels with Diamonds accents, I LOVE and DIE! So beautiful!!  Once I got in contact with Christine K’s  PR team I was able to do a little Q &A session with the designer. It gave me a chance to get to know her better,  see how she got her start in design and how she started her business. Continue reading and learn about her, the  jewelry and so much more.

Q. What is your name?

A. Christine K, I’m Korean living in Los Angeles, California.

Q. Give us a little background of yourself, how did you get started in jewelry design?

A. I started designing after college. I went to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in downtown Los Angeles and worked in the fashion industry for about four years. Since I was a little girl, I wanted to be in the Fashion industry. I couldn’t think of anything else [I’d rather go] besides fashion. But later on I discovered I wanted to design fine jewelry, so I enrolled to learn about pearls and diamonds at the Gemological Institute of America.

Q. What lead you into the direction of designing Jewelry?

A. I started working as an assistant buyer and intern, but later on I started designing clothing. They actually sold well and I kept designing. Also, my love of fashion pushed me into this direction. I’m of lover of all things pretty; I bet every girl likes pretty things, like I do. But I wanted to create something on my own.

Q. Where does your inspiration come from when designing your pieces?

A. My inspiration comes from luxury and simplicity, the modern yet contemporary, the feminine and somewhat minimalist. I like simultaneously modern and simple styles with a feminine side.

Q.  What is your process when you design your piece? What are things you incorporate or don’t?

A. I think the design and color first, then I buy gems, pearls and diamonds from international jewelry shows or local jewelry markets. I match gems, double-check the shades of gold matches with center stones, and I always think of a theme last. My last theme was rose gold, two-color diamonds and black diamonds.

Q. What are some new designs you’re working on? What do you envision for the future?

A. I’m currently working on colored stones. I’m working on cocktail colored stone rings and engagement rings. I love pastel colored stones light pink morganite and smokey pink tourmaline. They’re tones are very beautiful and I fall in love with them at first sight. As of right now. I’ve done both diamond and pearl lines. for Christine K jewelry. You can view the collections at: http: www.ohmychristine.com.

Q.  What were your first design pieces that you created? And how has your brand evolved over the years?

A. This is my first design brand. I love black diamonds and feminine style, so I combined them as one style. The piece makes your hand look appear like is tied with a ribbon. It’s very feminine and the black diamonds catches light well. It’s been only eight months since I opened my online store. Most people like it but fine jewelry is not something everyone can own. Also it needs extra care, so customers need to practice good care techniques. I think Christine K jewelry is slowly evolving and I hope many people will notice it and appreciate my brand.

Q. How did you go about creating your business plan and what was your starting investment?

A. First, I came up with an idea. I started calculating costs for my new brand, then I wrote down every possible expense I came up with. When I added everything up like: supplies, website  fees, marketing, etc.. the total funds required I came up with at the very minimum was $10,000. I invested more as the company grew, but my starting investment was $10,000.

Q. What’s a typical day in your life at your office?

A. On a typical work day, I’ll wake up around 7 am, take my dog for a walk and make some coffee before jumping into the shower. First thing in the morning I check my orders. Sometimes, I have lunch meetings with my jeweler or supplier. Sometimes, I have photoshoots scheduled for products or models. If i’m not too busy, I sit at the office and come up with marketing ideas; I manage my instagram, Pinterest and tumblr. Some days I go to local jewelry markets to buy gems and pearls for future designs. L.A. is a great city if you enjoy restaurants and there are so many hiking trails and beaches you can go to. During the weekend I enjoy California wheaten by going to the beaches and shopping around Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica and Malibu.

A complete girls dream to grow there own business going off of their love and passion for fashion… Dreams really do come true.

Continue to work hard and dream big loves. Anything is possible as you can see from Christine. She took her dreams and love for Fashion and made it a reality and created her own business. True inspiration at it’s finest. I enjoyed my Q & A session with her and she is a truly an empowering and remarkable woman. Not to mention how her hard work and dedication to her craft is truly inspiring.

Whatever your dreams are and whatever you want to do in life, just remember anything is possible, with hard work, dedication and determination.  I hope this inspires you all to go out there and be the Girlboss you always wanted to be. Live the life you want for yourself. Live for a purpose and live your best life possible.

Thank you Christine K. for partnering and collaborating with me on this post. All thoughts are my own outside of the Q&A answers.

Thanks so much for all the love and support, for reading, following along, and showing love.

Please be sure to like, comment, share, and follow along!

As always much love, happiness and blessings to you all!

In light of it being “Throwback Thursday” today’s #tbt brings us back to our trip to Italy. My husband and I  went to Italy for our Honeymoon (2yrs ago) and we just fell in LOVE! We both said we could totally see ourselves leaving our lives in the U.S. and retiring in Italy one day. We fully enjoyed ourselves — Italy, is a place to visit again and again.
For our Honeymoon we visited: Venice, Florence, Pisa, Tuscany, Rome, Naples, The Amalfi Coast and Capri. My husband planned the MOST romantic and MOST magical honeymoon a girl could ever dream of. Every place we went to was BEAUTIFUL!
Our first stop was Venice, and it was so neat to be greet by our very own private boat that taxied us to our hotel on the Canal. Venice is truly a romantic city, filled with so much history, and quite remarkable. I mean what couldn’t you not LOVE about this city. It was interesting to stay in a city with no streets or cars, just boats and ferries to roam the area.  If you haven’t been to Venice, I suggest you do- at least once in your life. You WON’T regret it. While your there be sure to visit: Piazza San Marco+ the St. Mark’s Basilica in the square. The architecture and structures is in Venice are AMAZING and Italy overall. I mean although the architecture in Italy is old, the marble + intricate art designs are such exquisite. The ceiling art in the Churches+ Basilicas are stunning. I almost wish buildings here in the U.S., definitely something to admire.
I fully enjoyed our entire trip but my favorite places were: Venice+Florence+Rome+Capri. Located in the North and Southern areas of Italy, were by far one’s in my opinion, one MUST visit at least once in your lifetime. SO much history, culture, and don’t get me started on the food. Everywhere you go, its so AMAZINGLY good but different and unique depending on where you are. And you can really tell that Italians put their heart +soul into their cooking, so much time and detail that goes into preparing each dish. Just AMAZING!  We literally ate our way through Eataly! (Haha) And if possible stay in the center each city, it’s easier access to many things. Closer to the sights and to close to the main tourist attractions.
Highlights of our Honeymoon Trip: Seeing The Duomo in Florence, SHOPPING, Colosseum+Vatican City+Seeing the Pope, Relaxing +Sunbathing on the island of Capri. The water in Capri, we GORGEOUS! Italian’s are so friendly and not to mention they age well too. I think it has to do something with the Wine. Because wine in ITALY is just AMAZING. After visiting Italy, I said to myself: “Drink Wine, Its the Italian’s fountain of Youth!” Lol
FLORENCE– We walked in the narrow twisted corridor of the Duomo, and walked up 463 steps. I know that seems like a lot which it was, but it was well worth the cardio. The path takes you up to the top to see the beautiful views of the city. Florence– simply breathtaking. Oh, and don’t get me started on the Shopping– I FELL IN LOVE! And I may have gotten a little carried away, but it was all worth it to take home some goodies from our travels!!
ROME– Having the Colosseum only steps from our hotel was AMAZING up close. Seeing on the television is one thing but up close makes me appreciate this historic structure even more. Making wishes at the famous Trevi Fountain, was special especially as newlyweds, wishes for our future and start to our life together, definitely a special moment for both my husband and I. Meeting the Pope and having him bless us, our marriage and just being in his presence was remarkable. One experience we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
CAPRI + ANACAPRI- Here on the Island of Capri and atop on Anacapi on the Amalfi Coast was esquiste. My husband and I believe we found a piece of Heaven there. The scenery and landscapes of the Island were simply beautiful. God definitely created something with an abundance of beauty and serenity all in one. Very peaceful, relaxing, and quite inviting. Never seen anything like this, and you just have to experience it to believe it!

Overall, the trip was AMAZING, and my husband exceeded my expectations and went ABOVE and BEYOND! I feel VERY Lucky and Blessed to have experience and travel to such a beautiful place with my husband. Everyday, I count my blessings, I’m a firm believer in that and that all things come to those who wait. And to experience such a beautiful country with the Love of my life was a dream come true. I’m truly thankful to him for planning this trip for us to experience together. I LOVED and ENJOYED every bit of it.

Would I ever go back there? Without a doubt, I would travel back to Italy and visit those areas again. As I said earlier, my husband have REALLY considered retiring there. 🙂
