Spa Day anybody? I say YASSS and ABSOLUTELY to a spa day any day.
With Spa week in full swing, I thought it would be fitting to share my experience at the Caudalie boutique store and spa on Bleeker Street, NYC. I have been a huge fan of Caudalie and their products for many years, but I have to say this is one spa that I haven’t visited until now.
Nothing makes me and my skin happier than a little TLC at the spa. I had an amazing experience overall. I visited Caudalie on Bleeker Street, back in August. A day to relax and unwind. Also a great way to prep my body and skin for my upcoming trips. A great way to let my skin and body breathe and get revitalized and rejuvenated.
Upon arriving at the Caudalie Bleeker Street boutique, I was greeted by the staff with a glass of their draining tea. One of my favorite teas that aids in detox. It’s a delicious blend of 5 100% organic* plants, these herbal infusions were exclusively created for the Vinothérapie® Tisanerie des Spas. It’s meant to accelerate the elimination of water and toxins for an immediate sensation of well-being. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Treatments:
Vinosource Anti-Oxidant Hydrating Facial
Divine Body Treatment
A relaxing body massage featuring our award winning Divine Oil, a combination of 4 exceptional plant oils. Your skin will be luxuriously softened, moisturized and wrapped in a delicate floral fragrance (rose, grapefruit, pink pepper, vanilla, cedar and white musk).
I had the most amazing specialist, her name is Melissa. If your ever in the NYC/West Village area be sure to ask for her she’s the best! She began her career with Caudalie at the founding Spa and store in Bordeaux, Paris , how AMAZING! She did an exceptional job at accessing my skin and what it needed during my visit. She’s also quite knowledgeable about the brand and their products. Melissa is the perfect Caudalie specialist to ask all your skincare questions and needs.
I came on a great day too, they were celebrating the release and Collaboration of their newly designed product and one of my favorites I might add, their beauty elixir. Jason Wu x Caudalie, if you haven’t tried their beauty elixir I highly suggest you should. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. Be sure to pick up a bottle of your very own the limited edition collaboration Jason Wu Design beauty elixir available in stores and at a Sephora near you.
After my treatments, I felt re-energized and refreshed. I’m all about amazing skincare and using the right products that my skin needs. I’m a huge fan of the Caudalie brand and their products. Their spa experience is an added plus. The Caudalie spa and boutique was not only relaxing but the ambiance and interior design was so very zen and luxurious. Definitely a place I’d come back and visit. If you haven’t been to the Caudalie Store and Spa you should definitely check it out.

I try to make it a daily routine to pamper my skin. Over the years, I’ve used products that contained anti-aging components. But in the last few years, I’ve began to incorporate more anti-aging products to my skincare routine. Now that I’m in my 30’s, I want to keep my skin, youthful, glowing and radiant. I want to prevent early signs of aging and age gracefully through the years. Research has shown that it’s best to start preventative measures sooner rather than later. When you stick to a daily routines, a well-balanced diet, staying hydrated, getting a good nights rest and listening to your skin the results will amaze you.
Lately, I’ve learned a great deal about many anti-aging products and have been experimenting with products that best suit my skin. For this post, I’m sharing my updated skincare routine, along with my healthy + beauty secrets for anti-aging and much more.
First things first, in order for us to look healthy on the outside we need to be healthy on the inside as well. Leading a healthy lifestyle is vital and important in getting great skin. Fruits, Veggies and healthy proteins contain many health benefits along with acting skin solutions. Skincare products are great for our skin, but we can also find active ingredients within our foods that are beneficial to our health and skin. Below are a few staples in my diet that are also great for your skin too. Health is wealth in my opinion. We only have one body, so we need to make sure to treat it right in all aspects.
Staples for me are:
Green Juices:
Fave Fruits: Apples, Pitaya, Strawberries, Mango, Lemons, Watermelon, Bananas, blueberries, Avocados, Tomatos, Pears and Tropical Fruits
Veggies: Spinach, Brussel Sprouts, Carrots, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Sweet Potato, Beets, and Zucchini
Healthy Protein: Lean Meats– Chicken, Beef and Turkey
Fish+Seafood: Salmon, Cod, Shrimp, Tuna, Flounder
Healthy Snacks:
First things first, always stay hydrated. Hydration is key. A great way to keep hydrated is drinking water, at least 11 cups daily. There was a time where I too, struggled with this but it’s become like second nature to me. It’s best to maintain the habit of drinking water. I like to make it a habit to start first thing in the morning, during the day at various intervals and before I go to bed. It’s so important to stay hydrated, great for your overall health and skin too. In addition to staying hydrated, it’s great to load up on good healthy snacks throughout the day. Almonds are a great go to snack for me. They contain the healthy fatty acids you need and want for healthy skin and body. They also help to slow down the aging process.
—
Now, aside from a healthy diet is my skincare routine. I like to stick to a routine, and staying consistent. Consistency is key in maintaining healthy looking skin. Although, I’ve changed my products here and there I still stick to my routine for both day and night. For me, I like to keep my skincare routine pretty simple. Here’s what I do:
Morning Skincare Routine:
Cleanse: Sephora Collections : Total Purify & Cleanse Gel or Dermalogica’s Special Cleansing Gel
Facial Oil: On days when my skin just needs extra hydration and moisture (Fall/Winter Months can be used both day and night) Sunday Riley’s Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil
Toner: Dermalogica’s Multi-Active Toner Spray , Caudalie’s Grape Water and Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir (I also use Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir to set my makeup)
Serum: Josie Maran’s Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment
Eye Cream: Caudalie’s Premier Cru Eye Cream
Moisturizer: No 7 Early Defence Day Cream with SPF 30 Every now and then, I’ll use a tinted moisturizer with added SPF: Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Oil Free in the shade 3C1 Fawn
SPF: Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Gel With Sunscreen for extra protection
Night-Time Routine:
For the night-time I use products that are richer and can absorb into my skin while I sleep. The majority of my products for the night-time have a lot of Anti-aging agents to help keep my skin youthful, hydrated, firm, and rejuvenated. So, while i’m sleeping they can work their magic. So that when I wake in the morning my skin feels nourished, youthful and well rested.
Cleanse: (For the Fall/Winter Months when my skin needs extra hydration and moisture) No7 Beautiful Skin Age Defense Cleanser or No7 Beautiful Skin Melting Gel Cleanser (Main Cleanser)
Elixir: Caudalie’s Premier Cru Elixir ( Can be used for the daytime as well)
Facial Oil: Boots No7 Youthful Replenishing Facial Oil, for an added boost I use: Sunday Riley’s Luna Sleeping Night Oil
Serum: No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advance Serum
Eye Cream: Chanel’s Le Lift Creme Yeux Firming Anti-Wrinkle/Aging Eye Cream
Moisturizer: Chanel’s Le Lift Creme Rich Firming Anti-Aging/Wrinkle Cream
For Extra TLC Skincare Needs:
For extra hydration and moisture, I’ll often use various hydrating mask and sheet mask. My favorite hydrating sheet mask are: Nature’s Republic Aqua Collagen Solution Ceramide Hydro Gel Mask, Nature’s Republic Real Green Tea Aqua Gel Mask , SKII Facial Treatment Mask , and Too Cool For School Egg Cream Mask Hydration.
If I didn’t get enough sleep the night before, and I wake up with puffy eyes and dark circles— I’ll use some under eye gel mask. They’re great for depuffing, replenishing and reducing the appearance of any dark circles for your tired eyes. My favorite go to under eye masks are: Tarte’s Pack your Bags 911 Undereye Rescue Patches, Peter Thomas Roth’s 24K Gold Pure Luxury Lift & Firm Hydra Gel Eye Patches and Que Bella Professional Moisturizing Gel Eye Mask.
In the event my skin is going thru either hormonal spells or the occasional flair up. A great mask that I’ve tried and recommend is Ballerina Botanicals Detox Mask to find out more about the product click here. Another favorite of mine is Glam Glow’s Supermud Clearing Treatment Mask. If my skin needs a little lift and brightening I use Glam Glow’s FlashMud Brightening treatment.
Be sure to exfoliate your skin at least twice a week. My favorite exfoliator at the moment is: First Aid Beauty’s Facial Radiance Polish. I also love : Dermalogica’s Skin Prep Scrub and Daily Microfoliant Powder Exfoliant.

Anniesa Hasibuan’s show was simply captivating and moving. At the young age of 28, Hasibuan was the first Indonesian designer to showcase her collection at NYFW. This show has been heard all over the world, and with good reason. History was made in New York at NYFW, for she was the first Indonesian designer to present her collection, where the hijab made its debut on the catwalk. Featuring colorful headscarves in pink, silver and gold. The hijab was styled with eye catching jackets, gowns, colorful silk and patterned tunics, velvets and brocades adorned with pearls and sequins. All handcrafted and beaded with precise detail and care. Anniesa Hasibuan’s collection was inspired by her hometown Jakarta. The final outfit was the most gorgeous showstopper that left the audience stunned. It was truly inspiring to see a young designer like Anniesa Hasibuan present at NYFW. Not only inspiring but empowering, making you believe that dreams really do come true. The look of joy and happiness shined bright on her face has she walked the runway at the end of her show. The show concluded with a standing ovation, that gave me goosebumps.
I fell in love with the beaded jackets and gowns shown that evening. You can clearly see the time and effort that went into making each piece. How they were all handcrafted with the utmost love and care. Truly remarkable. I would totally rock one of those jackets any day!
[The hijab is a veil traditionally worn by Muslim women in the presence of adult males outside of their immediate family, which usually covers the head and chest. The term can further refer to any head, face, or body covering worn by Muslim women that conforms to a certain standard of modesty. Hijab can also be used to refer to the seclusion of women from men in the public sphere, or it may denote a metaphysical dimension, for example referring to “the veil which separates man or the world from God”. (Wikipedia)]
Most often the hijab is worn by muslim women to display modesty and privacy. Most women are often stereotyped as disempowered, and constricted when wearing the hijab. Although, many women today choose to wear it for personal reasons. The hijab is in fact seen as a feminist statement to many. The women of the muslim culture have been neglected in the fashion industry for quite some time. But thanks to designers like Anniesa Hasibuan–she made her mark which was well received by many in the fashion industry. At the end of the show, I along with fellow blogger and friend Ellese Launer of Rock Paper Glam had the pleasure of speaking with the designer. A lovely women, with such great talents and a heart of gold. We asked, ” How long did the beading take?” And she responded, ” Quite some time, all were hand beaded and crafted.” When you speak to her, you too, will see her grace, charm and passion for fashion.
I’ll concluded with a statement Anniesa Hasibuan made to CNN, “I am so proud and thankful for everyone on the team who helped me so this event could happen, and I am thankful to international and local media from Indonesia for exposing my show. I did not realize the result can be this amazing, and I am thrilled and humbled by the welcome reaction given.” (CNN)
Thank you Anniesa Hasibuan for inspiring and empowering many of us with your collection and making a huge impact on the world. Your designs are truly amazing and well respected.
If you saw the show, and if you caught my Snapchat story that evening, what were your thoughts? Comment below, I love hearing from you!

My New York look in full effect. It’s so basic, yet so chic all at the same time. For the daytime I like to feel comfy, and this is a great casual and chic look. For a more daytime casual feel, as I’ve done here, wear flats. For the night time, throw on a pair of heels to make this outfit sizzle for a night out on the town. My favorite heels to pair with this outfit: Jimmy Choo Kiki Suede & Fringe Heels. In addition to the heels, change up your lip color to be night time ready. My suggestion would be: a bold red lip or even a deep mave or brown lip color. My favorite Fall shade lipsticks are: Bobbi Brown’s lipstick in the Shade Cocoa and Tom Ford’ Lip Color Matte in shade Ruby Rush What I love about wearing all black, it’s a look that’s so effortless and stylish. An outfit so basic, you just need to accessorize it to take it to the next level. I’m a huge fan of accessories! With the right accessories, you can make your outfit POP! The Shopstyle Social House was one event that I was SUPER excited about this season. I was thrilled to get invited to the Social House again and experience it all this NYFW SS17. I started my day with the Dan Liu show at the Skylight Clarkson Gallery. Then I headed uptown to the Glasshouses for the ShopStyle Social House event. This was one event I was looking forward to since I got the invitation. I was so happy and thrilled to experience and enjoy it all with my gal pal and fellow blogger friend Loren. She’s the writer and creator behind the blog: Enlightened By Bravery. If you aren’t following her yet, you should. She’s just a great women, with great style and an amazing personality. Such a beautiful soul she has, and I’m happy to have met her. Check her blog out: www.enlightenbybravery.com and her Instagram: @EnlightedByBravery.
This look was my favorite outfit I wore during NYFW. Probably not the best choice for that particular day though, because it felt like a sauna outside in early September. But hey, it’s all in the name of fashion. And let’s be honest, I’m a slave to FASHION. Rock it and own it, which is exactly what I did. What’s great about this dress is that it still can be worn and style for the Fall months. Can’t wait to style and rock the look again soon.
We enjoyed getting our hair done by the hairstylist there that day. Sipped on champagne and Rose, browsed the clothing racks to borrow some FAB pieces to rock during NYFW. Thanks to Shopstyle, Sole Society, The Outnet Iris and Ink and Sam Edelman, for keeping me looking stylish and fashionably chic all throughout NYFW. We were also gifted great cross body bags by Gigi New York which were personally monogrammed for us by the Gigi New York staff. It was great to meet old and new friends as well as connecting with all the vendors at the event.

Marissa Webb is one designer I love and admire. When I attended her show last season, I was simply amazed by her incredible work. I can definitely say the same for this season. She presented on Day 1 of NYFW on September 8th at the Skylight Clarkson Gallery. Marissa Webb is one designer who perfectly balances feminine and masculine elements into her designs. Her designs exude cool, sophisticated, chic, and effortless all at the same time. Her SS17 Collection featured a soft palette of neutrals with pops of burnt orange, chartreuse in delicate silks and subtle ruffle accents. One of my favorite looks from this collection was her take on a suit. A modern day version of a traditional suit, and the back detail was just to die for. Every piece was absolutely AMAZING! I definitely had my favorites from her Ready-to-Wear collection. I wanted every piece in my size for my closet. I loved how she paired a military inspired jacket with her soft, pretty, floral dress. And how she paired a silk floral top with leather pants, seemed fitting and oh so stylish!
(MY FAVORITES FROM THE COLLECTION)
When it comes to design, Marissa Webb doesn’t need to dig deep to find inspiration. She dresses what she knows best, and what speaks to her. Her inspiration comes from what’s around her, specifically ” The Modern New York woman,” as she stated backstage before the show. Although, her designs are inspired by the Modern New York woman, they aren’t the only ones who will fall in love with this collection.
What’s your favorite from the collection?
As always, thanks for reading, following, and supporting me in my journey. I hope you enjoyed my photos and recap
Leanne Marshall’s SS17 collection at New York Fashion Week was absolutely stunning! We saw some gorgeous chiffon gowns, sheer cropped tops and pants numbers that floated down the runway leaving viewers speechless. Gowns were flowing, models glided through the runway almost as if they were floating on clouds. The overall vibe was something straight out of an elegant fairytale with stunning high fashion outfits. I believe, everyone who saw this show could see themselves wearing her entire collection. There’s no doubt about it, no matter what the occasion is, Leanne Marshall definitely showed beautiful consistency in every single piece that dawned the runway. Anybody who wears Leanne Marshall clothing will be a showstopper and will turn heads all over. Every look exude ethereal, feminine beauty that just flowed throughout the show.
The chiffon, organza, and cotton lace fabrics she used draped the feminine silhouettes effortlessly, making a grand entrance that was so captivating as they appeared on the runway. The inspiration behind her collection came from crystals and the meaning behind their healing energy. Each crystal could mean something different for a lot people. They can be used as a means to uplift you, help you channel the different things you may be going thru or even a way to find a sense of relief or meditation. Many designers have embraced the, “see it now, buy it now,” trend, something Marshall has begun to do too. 41 looks were presented at NYFW, and 10 of them were made to order immediately available now on her website. I don’t know about you, but I would love to owe a Leanne Marshall original any day!
The amount of detail of sheer illusions, hand-beading, and embellishments that Leanne Marshall designed were simply beautiful. It just goes to show the amount of time, dedication and detail that went into every piece of the collection. Needless to say, this show left me stunned by the beauty that existed in every piece that glided through the runway. I loved her color palette choice of soft pastels: rose quartz, plum, and blue. They invoked romantic and flirty feels that complimented Marshall’s artistry, almost dream like ambiance with the use of chiffon fabrics. I’m still amazed by the draping and movement of each piece. Two words I’d use to describe her collection: breathtaking and absolutely stunning. It only leaves us in high anticipation to see what’s to come next season. One things for sure, we know it will be nothing short from AMAZING!
As always, thanks for reading, following along and supporting me in my journey. I hope you enjoyed my recap and photos from this stunning show.
Can you believe it’s already September?
I feel like every year the Summer months just fly by. The Summer baby and lover in me wants to hold onto Summer for as long as I can. Luckily, the weather in New York City is still warm enough that we can still enjoy the summer heat just a little longer while longer….
When it comes to shopping for swim suits, I’m very indecisive and picky. I always have to make sure the fit looks right, and of course I want it to look flattering on me as well. So, when Eco Swim by Aqua Green contacted me to work together, I was excited to collaborate together, but was unsure about receiving a swimsuit without trying it on. But I’m happy I took the plunge to see how they create sustainable, fashionable swimsuits and clothing all at the same time.
I received my cover-up and swimsuit just in time for our trip to Miami. The fit was just right and quite flattering to my body. My body type is fit but curvy. I’m always overly conscious of my bust area. But, thankfully the fit was just right, and I loved the black polka dot design on the swimsuit. Not only was it cute but stylish and chic all at the same time. The cover-up was great as well. It can be styled on its own, or paired with these cute shorts (as seen on me) or even a mini skirt. Here, I paired their Jacquard Collar White Cover-Up with some cute black and white patterned shorts. [I’ll have all the links to each item listed below]. Overall, I’m happy with the fit and style of the swimsuit and cover-up. Even after a few washes the material has still held up and looks brand new. The quality on both the cover up and swimsuit is simply amazing.
What I admire most about Eco Swim is their message and mission behind their brand. I’m all about leading a healthy lifestyle and living in a healthy, safe world and they do all that and more. Eco Swim is a 4th generation family run business, that not only cares about the materials they use but how they are created and produced. They’ve created something that sustainable and fashionable with dual purpose. Consumers are given amazing quality and planet-friendly swimwear that ’s not only better for you but for the entire planet. How can you not LOVE that!Their motto is “reducing your carbon footprint in the sand.” The work they do is truly amazing!
Aside from creating fashionable, sustainable swimwear, Eco Swim strives to help keep beaches and rivers clean. ECO SWIM is committed to several beach and river cleanups each year through retail partnerships.” [ECO SWIM BY AQUA GREEN] With the help and partnership of many retailers they have removed 6,600 lbs of trash from our oceans and waters and continue to do so. Their mission and philosophy,
“ ECO SWIM is a way of life. It’s the journey of learning to love, respect, and have a sense of responsibility for our planet. It’s about appreciating the past, enjoying the present, and anticipating the future. It’s protecting what is important to you while creating a better world for tomorrow.”
The more and more I learn and read about this company, I’m happy to have partnered and collaborated with them. I believe in the brand even more, seeing all the good they are doing for our planet, is truly remarkable. Their swimsuits and clothing are designed and created out of recycled nylons and other eco-friendly materials, which are all made in America. Thank you Eco Swim for collaborating and partnering with me on this post. All thoughts are my own.

If you haven’t joined the bandwagon, this is the time to do so. This simple accessory has been around for for awhile, but has evolved over the years. Here’s another fashion trend that can be worn in so many different ways and you can’t go wrong. In the last year, we’ve seen the necklace trend go from extra-long pendents, to big, bold statement pieces and now the opposite end of the spectrum: chokers that encircle tightly around the neck. This could in fact be the next natural step from the skinny scarf look. Which is another way to style this look. Many celebrities like: Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Taylor Swift have sported the look. EvenBloggers and Vloggers like: Chriselle Lim, Heart Defensor, Jessi Malay and many more have rocked this look. It’s easy to pull off the choker look. It’s easy to see the appeal to this 90’s grunge style. The look is easy, effortless and goes with just about any outfit. It also acts as a built in scarf, an accessory that compliments your look overall. I’ve always loved taking a basic outfit to the next level, just by accessorizing the outfit with jewelry, and other accent details. A look that’s been seen all over and what’s great about this look, it can be worn all year round. One of my favorite styles and one I like to rock on the regular. Can we say, LOVES IT!
Here are 3 ways you can rock the look:
Jeweled and Beaded Accents
Shop the look: Petits Bijoux Station Choker Necklace Petits Bijoux Two-Row Choker Necklace
Boho Bae Beaded Feather Choker
Suede Leather Tie and Velvet Choker Necklace
Shop the Look: Hero Metal +Leather Necklace Set Vanessa Mooney Velvet Choker Necklace

Bandana + Scarf Choker Look
Shop the Look: Chan Lauu Beaded Chiffon Choker Basic Bandana Roberto Cavalli Printed Scarf
Which style do you like best?
Try out the look and see how you like it. Try in all variations and see what compliments you best. But to be honest, whichever look you choose you’ll look FABULOUS!! I’d love to see how you styled the look, share your look by using the hashtag: #SFBFashion. As Always, thanks so much for reading, following and supporting me in my journey.
