ECO SWIM BY AQUA GREEN X SOCIALFASHIONISTABEAUTY

Posted on: September 9, 2016

Can you believe it’s already September?

I feel like every year the Summer months just fly by. The Summer baby and lover in me wants to hold onto Summer for as long as I can. Luckily, the weather in New York City is still warm enough that we can still enjoy the summer heat just a little longer while longer….

When it comes to shopping for swim suits, I’m very indecisive and picky. I always have to make sure the fit looks right, and of course I want it to look flattering on me as well. So, when Eco Swim by Aqua Green contacted me to work together, I was excited to collaborate together, but was unsure about receiving a swimsuit without trying it on. But I’m happy I took the plunge to see how they create sustainable, fashionable swimsuits and clothing all at the same time.

sfb x eco swim 5

I received my cover-up and swimsuit just in time for our trip to Miami. The fit was just right and quite flattering to my body. My body type is fit but curvy.  I’m always overly conscious of my bust area. But, thankfully the fit was just right, and I loved the black polka dot design on the swimsuit. Not only was it cute but stylish and chic all at the same time.  The cover-up was great as well. It can be styled on its own, or paired with these cute shorts (as seen on me) or even a mini skirt. Here, I paired their Jacquard Collar White Cover-Up with some cute black and white patterned  shorts. [I’ll have all the links to each item listed below].  Overall, I’m happy with the fit and style of the swimsuit and cover-up. Even after a few washes the material has still held up and looks brand new. The quality on both the cover up and swimsuit is simply amazing.

What I admire most about Eco Swim is their message and mission behind their brand. I’m all about leading a healthy lifestyle and living in a healthy, safe world and they do all that and more. Eco Swim is a 4th generation family run business, that not only cares about the materials they use but how they are created and produced. They’ve created something that sustainable and fashionable with dual purpose. Consumers are given amazing quality and planet-friendly swimwear that ’s not only better for you but for the entire planet. How can you not LOVE that!Their motto is “reducing your carbon footprint in the sand.” The work they do is truly amazing!

Aside from creating fashionable, sustainable swimwear, Eco Swim strives to help keep beaches and rivers clean. ECO SWIM is committed to several beach and river cleanups each year through retail partnerships.”  [ECO SWIM BY AQUA GREEN] With the help and partnership of many retailers they have removed 6,600 lbs of trash from our oceans and waters and continue to do so.  Their mission and philosophy,

“ ECO SWIM is a way of life. It’s the journey of learning to love, respect, and have a sense of responsibility for our planet. It’s about appreciating the past, enjoying the present, and anticipating the future. It’s protecting what is important to you while creating a better world for tomorrow.”

The more and more I learn and read about this company, I’m happy to have partnered and collaborated with them. I believe in the brand even more, seeing all the good they are doing for our planet, is truly remarkable. Their swimsuits and clothing are designed and created out of recycled nylons and other eco-friendly materials, which are all made in America. Thank you Eco Swim for collaborating and partnering with me on this post. All thoughts are my own.

It’s more Fun in the Bahamas

Posted on: June 9, 2016

It’s definitely more fun in the Bahamas, with great weather and fun in the sun, how could you go wrong! I mean, am I right?!

Last May, I enjoyed a little getaway to the Bahamas.  A little fun in the sun and some good ol’ R&R. I’ve enjoyed visiting the Bahamas ever since my first visit back in High School.  It was a nice way to free my mind and getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city . Whenever you get a chance it’s always nice to get away now and then, and I feel it’s important too. Great way to get refreshed, relaxed and feel restored and ready to get back to reality.

I stayed at none other than the Atlantis Resort & Casino on Paradise Island. I stayed at the newest, most modern and fashionably chic part of the resort: The Cove Atlantis.

Atlantis Paradise Island Resorts & Casino: Located at: One Casino Drive Paradise Island, Bahamas. It’s the Caribbean’s top vacation resort to visit. Discover all the fun and all it has to offer. The Resort has water parks the whole family can enjoy, fine dining, casino gaming and so much more. The resort has so much to offer you almost don’t need to go anywhere else. The Atlantis is such a gorgeous hotel and resort with so much to do for the whole family. I would highly recommend staying here when you visit the Bahamas. There are also many other hotels on Paradise Island and in downtown Nassau that are also notable. But this is one hotel that offers so much and has just about everything you’re looking for when your looking for relaxation, fun in the sun, and much more. Plus, it’s one of our favorites.

  • Royal Tower: is the most iconic tower and the heartbeat of the resort and the central location for the hotels premiere attractions.
  • Beach Tower: relaxed and care-free atmosphere, your room is steps away from all the fun, the beach and pools. The most affordable accommodations.
  • Coral Tower: contemporary and relaxed Bahamian ambiance, moderately priced accommodations.
  • The Reef Atlantis:Your home away from home, Luxury beachfront suites and residential apartments
  • The Cove Atlantis: Most stylish and fashionably chic escape, upscale guest experience. Exclusive access to the Adult only pool and beach club Cain at the Cove as well as Cascades Family pools. (This is where were stayed)
  • Harbourside Atlantis: Enjoy both simple and spacious charm of comfortable villas here at the Harbourside resorts. Ideally suited for families or groups of 9 or more.

What Atlantis has to offer–What To See + What To Do:

  • Enjoy the Dolphin Experience at Dolphin Cay extraordinary environment and intimate interaction programs at this 14-acre marine habitat
  • Go and experience Atlantis’s Water Park 141-acre water park includes a mile-long river tubing adventure, nine water slides, and 11 pools
  • Water Adventures: Learn how scientists and Atlantis Blue Project are working to conserve the world’s coral reefs
  • Check out their Marine Habitat: Experience up-close views of more than 50,000 marine animals from over 200 species (Included with your stay)
  • There are a plethora of activities for the Kids and Adults to enjoy outside of the waterpark: Tennis, Shopping, Earth & Pottery Studio, Rock Climbing, Atlantis Theater, Atlantis Library, Yacht and Fishing Charters, and Tours
  • Golf: Guests of Atlantis can enjoy invigorating play and spectacular ocean views at the Ocean Club Golf Course, an 18-hole, par 72 championship course, designed by Tom Weiskopf
  • Spa: Mandara Spa brings together ancient Balinese healing touches, traditional European therapies and natural elements indigenous to The Bahamas to provide the most unique and pampering spa treatments
  • Entertainment : Atlantis has many bars and lounge and great nightlife. Experience it all and check them all out.
  • Cain at The Cove
  • Aura Nightclub
  • Atlantis LIVE
  • Atlantis Theatre
  • Jokers Wild Comedy Club
  • Bars & Lounges

Guest don’t just have to go to Rodeo drive or 5th Avenue for luxury shopping. Atlantis Resorts offers world-class shopping thats just steps away from your room. Visit the Crystal shops located in the The Royal Tower, more boutique shops in their Cove Tower, Marina Village and the Pro shop. Whatever you fancy Atlantis offers that and much more. If you want to venture off Paradise Island, head down to Bay Street located in downtown Nassau. There you’ll find many shops, outlets, boutiques and the local straw market. The Straw Market is one of my favorite place to visit. The straw market is a traditional open-air market, where local vendors sell handwoven straw crafts, Bahamian souvenirs & tourist trinkets. Definitely a great place to buy gifts for family and friends. Great for bargains as well.

Where To Eat:

The Atlantis has a variety of foods to offer, so you won’t go hungry thats for sure. If your looking for fine dining, dining al fresco or some quick eats Atlantis has it. Island life is the best life and its great for any setting for eating. enjoy eating at one of my favorite restaurants Nobu (Celebrity Chef Restaurant), if your looking for something more Island cuisine then you’ll enjoy 77 West. Here are some other restaurants at Atlantis that may tickle your fancy.

Fine Dining Options (Our Faves):

Casual Dining Al Fresco (Our Favorites):

Quick Eats:

And if your super hungry and looking for something with more variety check out Poseidon’s Table. This is Atlantis’s newest buffet dining restaurant that has so much to offer. With an eclectic cuisines for dinner and an array of your breakfast favorites.

There is so much to see and do at The Atlantis but the same goes for the entire island of the Bahamas. If you want to experience the island, here are some suggestion on what to see in the Bahamas.

Bahamas Facts

  • Officially known as the Commonwealth of The Bahamas
  • It lies just northwest of Turks and Caicos and Southeast of Florida and East of the Florida Keys
  • Nassau is the Capital located in New Providence
  • New Providence is the most populated Island in the Bahamas containing more than 70% of the total population
  • The Bahamas was the first site where Christopher Columbus set foot on in the New World in 1492
  • The Bahamas become a British Colony in 1718, but became independent realm in 1973 retaining Queen Elizabeth II as its monarch.
  • Bahamas in one of the richest countries in the Americas following the USA and Canadas
  • The economy is based on tourism and finance
  • The colours embodied in the design of the Bahamian flag symbolize the image and aspirations of the people of the Bahamas; the design reflects aspects of the natural environment (sun, sand and sea) and the economic and social development. The flag is a black equilateral triangle against the mast, superimposed on a horizontal background made up of two colours on three equal stripes of aquamarine, gold and aquamarine. (Wikipedia)
  • The symbolism of the flag is as follows: Black, a strong colour, represents the vigour and force of a united people, the triangle pointing towards the body of the flag represents the enterprise and determination of the Bahamian people to develop and possess the rich resources of sun and sea symbolised by gold and aquamarine respectively. In reference to the representation of the people with the colour black, some white Bahamians have joked that they are represented in the thread which “holds it all together.”(Wikipedia)
  • The Yellow Elder is the national flower, it blooms throughout the years

What To See

  • Blue Lagoon: Blue Lagoon Island is a private island located 5 km from Nassau, Bahamas and serves as a local tourist attraction
  • Ardastra Gardens: Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Centre in Nassau, The Bahamas opened in 1937 though the work of the Jamaican horticulturist, Hedley Vivian Edwards. From the Latin Ardua astrum, Ardastra means “Striving for the stars”
  • Junkanoo: Junkanoo is a street parade with music, dance, and costumes of Igbo origin in many towns across the Bahamas every Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. The largest Junkanoo parade happens in the capital New Providence.
  • Fort Fincastle: Fort Fincastle is a fort located in the city of Nassau on the island of New Providence in The Bahamas
  • Fort Charlotte: Fort Charlotte is a British-colonial era fort built on a hill over-looking the harbor of Nassau, The Bahamas. The fort sits a short walk west of downtown Nassau and the cruise ship terminal
  • Take a tour of Nassau, Paradise Island and more. For more information click here

If you’re anything like us, wherever we travel we like to check out where the locals hangout and eat. We love seeing and exploring the hot spots for the locals, especially for eating. So if your looking for something more local and authentic, take a little drive or walk down downtown Nassau to the Fish Fry. The Fish Fry, is where you’ll find real, authentic Bahamian dishes that will satisfy your tastebuds. The Fish Fry is a place I would highly recommend if your looking for local and real Bahamian cuisine.

During our trip, we enjoyed each day by the pool or beach, basically relaxed in paradise. Some days were spent, curled up reading a book or work in the Library lounge located in the Royal Tower. And of course we love taking photos. Honestly, every inch of this hotel and island was so Instagram friendly. It’s impossible to not find a more perfect place to take photos. If your favorite photo spot is occupied? Don’t fret, walk in any direction of the resort or even away from the hotel and you’ll find another perfect spot. This may seem like #bloggerproblems, but no fear the island is so beautiful, every inch is photo worthy. You’re in island paradise, so don’t worry you’ll be able to capture that perfect island photo shot, GUARANTEED! We enjoyed cocktails by the pool even tried our luck at the casino. Danced the night away at the Aura Nightclub and returned to the lobby bar for a nightcap.

The Island of the Bahamas and the Atlantis is so absolutely gorgeous with fun, relaxing and positive vibes. During you’re stay you’ll feel at ease and with so much to do you won’t ever have to worry about being bored. When you visit the Bahamas and stay at the Atlantis, you will surely have an amazing time as we did. Although the majority of our visit was spent at the resort, we also took time to explore the rest of the island. All in all, we enjoyed our stay in the Bahamas and at the Atlantis Resorts and Casino Paradise Island. We want to thank the entire staff at the Atlantis for making our stay such a fantastic experience. We also want to thank the Bahamas tourism board for the incredible tour of the beautiful island.

Have you traveled to Paradise?

Set Sail and Relax on the Island of Grand Caymans

Posted on: May 19, 2016

Set sail, we’re headed to the Grand Cayman islands.

cayman0615-cayman-islands

I was so thrilled to go to Grand Cayman islands. This would be a first time visiting the island and I couldn’t wait to explore it all.  So, Grand Cayman was one of the stops on my cruise. So, I had to maximize my time since we only had a few hours there. So, as soon as we docked, it was time to explore! We arrived at 8am and were set to sail at 5pm. So, I wanted to cover as much as I could during that time frame. First, I had breakfast on the boat, then my next stop was Seven Mile beach.

 Grand Cayman Islands Facts:

  • Grand Cayman is the largest of the 3 islands that make up the caymans.
  • The Cayman Islands capital is located in the Grand Cayman island which is called Georgetown.
  • In relation to the other two islands, Grand Cayman is about 75 miles away from Little Cayman and 95 miles away from Cayman Brac.
  • The island itself isn’t big at all, to me it’s comparable to the town of Newport, Rhode Island. The island is about 22 miles long with its widest points being around 8 miles wide.
  • I’m sure many know this and have seen and heard this from many movies. The Cayman Island’s capital: Georgetown is world-famous for being the center for off-shore investments and banking. It’s population is currently 20,676
  • No gambling is allowed whatsoever on the island. The casino on the boat wasn’t allowed to open until it was in legal regulations and proximity away from the islands.

Next stop, Seven Miles Beach. Seven Miles beach is best known for its beauty and was honored in receiving “The Caribbean’s Best Beach” from Caribbean Travel and Life Magazine. It’s the most popular, and most developed in the Grand Cayman’s. Seven Miles beach is the home of the islands luxury resorts and hotels. Despite its name, it’s actually stretches a bit over 6.3 miles. Once you walk the stretch you’ll be able to enjoy beach for miles, restaurants along the beach in and outside the resorts are open to the public. Definitely an area where tourist visit, an where we spent most of our time. You can enjoy water sports such as scuba diving and snorkeling which are the most popular activities on the island. Our day was spent enjoying the beach and having fun in the sun. We also, had fun on the jet ski’s! If you haven’t gone jet skiing before, I highly recommend it. It’s so much fun!

After a few drinks and some sun, and my newly bronzed and tan self I made my way back towards the boat. But before getting on the boat, I stopped into the local shops in the downtown area close to port. As I said before, the island isn’t that big, so you can literally walk and drive around the entire island. I made my way back to the downtown/ George town area, enjoyed some authentic rum cake, purchased a few souvenirs for family, friends and myself and made my way back onto the boat.

If your looking for beach, water sports activities, great views, and just time to relax and unwind then Grand Cayman Islands is a place to visit. It’s truly a beautiful island, where the people are friendly, and welcoming. Grand Cayman isn’t a big island, but it has a lot to offer.

YA MON! DISCOVER OCHO RIOS, JAMAICA

Posted on: May 12, 2016

I know these next few post are late, but hey better late than never, right…!?!?

Last February into early March,  I traveled to the Western Caribbean via Norwegian Cruises lines aboard the Norwegian Getaway. It was a 7 day cruise beginning and ending in Miami. Our first port that we sailed to was the island of Jamaica, specifically Ocho Rios.

Ocho Rios, in spanish means Eight Rivers a port town located on the north coast of Jamaica. Now a resorts port that was once a fisherman’s village that has a harbor for cruise ships to dock and where the resorts are surrounded by the beach waters. The closest town or Parish from the harbor is Saint Ann which is home of the infamous Dunn’s River.

Tourism Highlights:

Dunn’s River

The number one tourism attraction on the island is Dunn’s river. Dunn’s River is a terraced, 180m mountain waterfall equipped with lagoon pools.  Simply breathtaking surrounded by so many trees and nature. Seeing all the lagoons and waterfalls in the Jamaican rainforest is absolutely breathtaking. If you haven’t checked out the falls it’s one stop you won’t want to miss!

DUNES RIVER 2

DUNES RIVER 1
CHUKKA ZIPLINING
Another popular attraction for tourist is ziplining through the rainforest. This was one of our favorite things we did when we visited Ocho Rios. My husband, who has a slight fear of heights, needed a little nudge from me,  so we could experience this excursion. After the first line, we set aside our fears and enjoyed the experience fully. Our group and tour guides were absolutely the best, everyone was so friendly and helpful it made the overall experience so fun and enjoyable. Our excursion was with Chukka adventures and they gave us the best adventure and experience. All of our guides were so friendly, which made the entire experience even better.

BOBSLEDDING
Do you guys remember the movie Cool Runnings? This was one of my favorite movies/comedies growing up. And our tourist guy said that some parts of the film were filmed in various areas of the island of Ocho Rios. But this experience I hear was super fun, I mean you’re one with nature and bobsledding in 90 degree climates. I mean who wouldn’t want to experience this attraction. You’ll enjoy stunning views of nature and the island during this bobsled ride. This is one excursion my husband and I didn’t get to try but we look forward to trying it on our next visit to Jamaica in the near future.

Whenever I travel anywhere I’d  like to try out local + authentic eats. I enjoy immersing myself  in the culture and getting to know the locals +natives of the countries I visit. The people in Jamaica were nice, welcoming and friendly.  Everyone I encountered were very approachable and willing to tell us where to eat and stay. Very resourceful and helpful. When visiting, eat like the locals and enjoy the countries favorites like: Curry chicken, jerk chicken, curry goat, plantains and much more.

Great local eateries are Scotchies and Mama Marleys.

Scotchies was also featured on the RHOA when they visited Ocho Rios. The cast enjoyed their famous jerk chicken after they  climbed the falls of Dunn’s River. Another local favorite is: Mama Marleys . Very close to the harbor/port. It’s conveniently located in a shopping mall where you can purchase a few souvenirs for yourself, family and friends. I recommend the Jerk Chicken and the curry goat, two island favorites. Prepared to perfection and tastes delicious!

WHERE TO STAY

The top 3 resorts to stay at  when you visit Ocho Rios:

Moon Palace Jamaica Grande
Hotel Sandals Royal Plantation
Sandals Grande Rivera Beach & Villa Golf Resort

These are the top hotels that tourist stay at when they visit the island. They’re all-inclusive beachfront hotels with so much to offer. All three hotels are luxury hotels all within minutes of the neighboring parishes (towns), close to local bars, shops and tourist attractions. Check them out today!!

Jamaica is truly a friendly and welcoming island. I will definitely be back to visit. I look forward to explore and discover more of this beautiful and happy island.

Again, thanks for stopping by, reading and following along. Enjoy the photos and I hope one day you’ll consider visiting this beautiful island and check out one or all of the attractions and places I’ve mentioned today.

CRUISE LIKE A NORWEGIAN!!

Posted on: May 10, 2016

Hello loves!

Hope everyone’s doing well, for this Travel + Explore post I’m telling you all about Norwegian Cruise Line and my experiences with them.

NCL6

Ever since I was a kid, traveling as been a big part of my life and even into my adult years. As a kid, my parents would take my siblings and I on vacations around the world. One of the first times my family and I went to the Caribbean was when we traveled by boat. We used Carnival back in the day when they first come out and it was the newest boat out on the market. And after that we tried out Royal Caribbean and now in my adult years I’ve traveled with Norwegian.

Although Carnival and Royal Caribbean are great cruises especially when they first started their vacation packages back in the day.

But my philosophy is when you’re on vacation shouldn’t you choose the vacation you want. Do what you want and when you want?? Not to knock or disrespect the other cruise liners out there, but while I’m on vacation I don’t want to stick to a strict schedule. I rather choose and figure things out as I go as far as cruising goes.

Why do I LOVE cruising with Norwegian Cruise Lines?

I love the fact that Norwegian Cruise lines prides on the fact that there kind of cruising is FreeStyle.

Freestyle Cruising : Dress up. Dress down. Sit down with friends or make new ones. Thanks to the flexibility of no fixed dining times or pre-assigned seating, you have the freedom to enjoy your vacation the way you want to. Norwegian Cruise Line offers the widest, most flexible selection of accommodation at sea from spectacular, luxurious Suites to Balcony Staterooms and family-friendly, interconnecting Staterooms. Enjoy the freedom to dine somewhere new at any point of the day with a variety of restaurants to choose from. Dine when you choose and dress as you please. Family cruises with Norwegian Cruise Line are all about fun and freedom for everyone. Relax knowing that the kids are safe and sound, the teens are hanging out with friends and you’re doing your own thing. Norwegian Cruise Line offers a different kind of cruising keeping your vacation your vacation free to do what you choose. Every one of their beautiful, contemporary cruise ships were built on the sole purpose for Freestyle Cruising with a world of choices on board. Find out more on: https://www.ncl.com/why-cruise-norwegian.

There are many options out there for cruising. But this is why I choose Norwegian and why I recommend them. I’m not disregarding the other cruise liners, but I’ve had great experiences with Norwegian and will continue to cruise with them in the coming years.

If you haven’t check out Norwegian Cruise Line yet I highly recommend it. Have Fun and enjoy your vacation! Cruise like a Norwegian!

Miami+ Little Havana+ SOBEFWFF2016

Posted on: May 9, 2016

Back in late February into early March, I cruised to the Western Caribbean from Miami. But before the cruise and the Western Caribbean, I began the vacation in Sunny Miami.
Welcome to Miami, benvenido a  Miami! Miami, one of my favorite cities, full of life, color, character, and not to mention so much fun. I’ve always loved the vibe and energy that Miami gives whenever I visit. One rule of thumb in life: Remember to take some time and get some good R&R.  Miami was a great city to begin our vacation. A nice break from the hustle and bustle of New York City. It’s always good for the soul and overall health and wellness to take a break to recharge. Taking a break and go on vacations — getting some good R&R will help you do better in all facets of your work and life.
I just wrapped on all the Fashion Week hoopla and it was the perfect time to take a much needed vacation to relax and unwind in warmer climates. I stayed at the 1 hotel South Beach located at: 2343 Collins Avenue, Miami, FL 33129.  This was my second time staying at the 1Hotel.
1HOTELSOBE12
1HOTELSOBE10
1HOTELSOBE7
This has to be one of my favorite hotels on South beach with so much to offer. This boutique beachfront hotel offers great views of the beach, close to many restaurants, bars, lounges, and more. I try and live a healthy balanced life. And what I love most about this mission-based luxury hotel is that nature is the main inspiration behind everything this hotel stands for and is about.  Just when you arrive, you feel like your transported to paradise and feel can feel the positive, tranquil and comforting vibes the hotel gives off. If you want to relax, feel at peace, with not a care in the world this is the place to stay and visit. The staff is simply amazing, pleasant, inviting, and very hospitable. When you visit and stay here you’ll feel right at home. When you stay at 1 Hotel south beach, their accommodations are so inviting. They offer modern, contemporary rooms and suites that are bright, spacious along with stunning beachfront views, absolute paradise a great vacation escape.  Seeing that we were leaving on Sunday for our cruise, the hotel was conveniently close to the Port of Miami (just about 6.5 miles away, a quick uber or taxi ride),  the famous Lincoln Road and the Architectural District.
Even though on vacation I still like to stay on track, by eating well balanced meals as well as exercising as much as I can. 1hotel South beach nature inspired hotel also shares the journey of health, wellness and their mission is to making everything just a little bit better. So when you stay at any of their properties, enjoy great food and fresh cold press juices from their lobby restaurant and shop Nativ Made. Take a yoga class by the beach, or spin to the beats at SOBE’s Soul Cycle location.  So whatever you fancy, the possibilities are endless.  So if you’re ever in the Miami area or a Florida native be sure to visit 1 Hotel South Beach. They also have locations in NYC: Central Park and Brooklyn. Trust me when I say this is one hotel you’ll want to check out and stay at.

The interior of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Bright, serene and stunning. Every itch of this vacation oasis was beautiful and so instagrammable. If you know me, you know I don’t give up any opportunity for a great photo, so I went a lil photo crazy and if you could imagine I was just snapping away. I couldn’t help but take so many photos of the inside and outside views. You’ll see what I mean from the photos. Absolutely breathtaking!
LITTLE HAVANA USA MIAMI
SOBE15
During my stay, I wanted to visit places I hadn’t seen before. I ventured to Little Havana to enjoy some good, authentic Cuban food. It was time to explore and enter the realms of “The Real Miami.” When you think of Miami, the first thing that comes to mind is: South Beach, Lincoln Road and Collin Avenue. The 3 main areas that are heavily publicized.  But what most people don’t know is that Miami’s culture is heavily influenced and dates back to the Cuban origins and latin flavors. Little Havana is literally minutes away from the South Beach strips, and LH (Little Havana) is also a strip made up of  local eateries, clubs and theaters of latin vibes. I like to explore and discover local gems, eateries, and experience something I’ve never tired. Even though my visit was short, I was able to experience some of the nightlife, enjoyed great food and immerse myself with the locals+natives. I loved dancing to the latin beats at a local bar+lounge featuring a local band. What a fun way to enjoy part a Saturday evening. I ate arroz con pollo, mojitos and empanadas at: El Cristos Restaurant located at:1543 SW 8th st. There you’ll find authentic Cuban food all day everyday. Also, stop by and enjoy a drink or dance to the latin beats of local bands at: Hoy Como Ayer located at: 2212 SW 8th St.
For the rest of the evening I ventured back towards the hotel and enjoyed the rest of the night at the SOBEFWF2016. If you know me or follow me on Instagram (@SocialFashionistaBeauty), you know by now that I’m a big foodie.  I enjoy trying new things and I enjoy good, quality food,  paired with the right wine or spirits. Good food+wine+ spirits and meeting new friends makes for a great time and experience. Working in the PR industry, seeing celebrities is nothing new for me. But it’s always nice to see familiar faces especially of my favorite TV personalities and chefs like: Al Roker and Giada. This was my first time at SOBEFWF and even though our experience was short we still had a great time. We were both in foodie heaven. For first timers to the festival made sure to take it all in and enjoy every minute of it. We then headed back to our hotel enjoyed a nightcap and headed to bed.
SOBE 8
SOBE 7
The next morning, I packed up m things and headed to the Port of Miami. Even though I only stayed one night at 1Hotel SOBE, I still had a great time. I look forward to the next visit. Hopefully I get to stay longer, enjoy more of the amenities, and discover more of what the 1hotel SOBE has to offer..
I know this post took awhile for me to put up….. But I wanted to be give you all an insight to our vacation from start to finish. Stay tuned for my next post that will explore in detail all the places we visit during our cruise to the Western Caribbean. Stay tuned!! Thanks again for stopping by, reading along, and traveling +exploring with me!

#TBT OUR HONEYMOON: ITALY

Posted on: September 15, 2015

In light of it being “Throwback Thursday” today’s #tbt brings us back to our trip to Italy. My husband and I  went to Italy for our Honeymoon (2yrs ago) and we just fell in LOVE! We both said we could totally see ourselves leaving our lives in the U.S. and retiring in Italy one day. We fully enjoyed ourselves — Italy, is a place to visit again and again.
For our Honeymoon we visited: Venice, Florence, Pisa, Tuscany, Rome, Naples, The Amalfi Coast and Capri. My husband planned the MOST romantic and MOST magical honeymoon a girl could ever dream of. Every place we went to was BEAUTIFUL!
Our first stop was Venice, and it was so neat to be greet by our very own private boat that taxied us to our hotel on the Canal. Venice is truly a romantic city, filled with so much history, and quite remarkable. I mean what couldn’t you not LOVE about this city. It was interesting to stay in a city with no streets or cars, just boats and ferries to roam the area.  If you haven’t been to Venice, I suggest you do- at least once in your life. You WON’T regret it. While your there be sure to visit: Piazza San Marco+ the St. Mark’s Basilica in the square. The architecture and structures is in Venice are AMAZING and Italy overall. I mean although the architecture in Italy is old, the marble + intricate art designs are such exquisite. The ceiling art in the Churches+ Basilicas are stunning. I almost wish buildings here in the U.S., definitely something to admire.
I fully enjoyed our entire trip but my favorite places were: Venice+Florence+Rome+Capri. Located in the North and Southern areas of Italy, were by far one’s in my opinion, one MUST visit at least once in your lifetime. SO much history, culture, and don’t get me started on the food. Everywhere you go, its so AMAZINGLY good but different and unique depending on where you are. And you can really tell that Italians put their heart +soul into their cooking, so much time and detail that goes into preparing each dish. Just AMAZING!  We literally ate our way through Eataly! (Haha) And if possible stay in the center each city, it’s easier access to many things. Closer to the sights and to close to the main tourist attractions.
Highlights of our Honeymoon Trip: Seeing The Duomo in Florence, SHOPPING, Colosseum+Vatican City+Seeing the Pope, Relaxing +Sunbathing on the island of Capri. The water in Capri, we GORGEOUS! Italian’s are so friendly and not to mention they age well too. I think it has to do something with the Wine. Because wine in ITALY is just AMAZING. After visiting Italy, I said to myself: “Drink Wine, Its the Italian’s fountain of Youth!” Lol
FLORENCE– We walked in the narrow twisted corridor of the Duomo, and walked up 463 steps. I know that seems like a lot which it was, but it was well worth the cardio. The path takes you up to the top to see the beautiful views of the city. Florence– simply breathtaking. Oh, and don’t get me started on the Shopping– I FELL IN LOVE! And I may have gotten a little carried away, but it was all worth it to take home some goodies from our travels!!
ROME– Having the Colosseum only steps from our hotel was AMAZING up close. Seeing on the television is one thing but up close makes me appreciate this historic structure even more. Making wishes at the famous Trevi Fountain, was special especially as newlyweds, wishes for our future and start to our life together, definitely a special moment for both my husband and I. Meeting the Pope and having him bless us, our marriage and just being in his presence was remarkable. One experience we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
CAPRI + ANACAPRI- Here on the Island of Capri and atop on Anacapi on the Amalfi Coast was esquiste. My husband and I believe we found a piece of Heaven there. The scenery and landscapes of the Island were simply beautiful. God definitely created something with an abundance of beauty and serenity all in one. Very peaceful, relaxing, and quite inviting. Never seen anything like this, and you just have to experience it to believe it!

Overall, the trip was AMAZING, and my husband exceeded my expectations and went ABOVE and BEYOND! I feel VERY Lucky and Blessed to have experience and travel to such a beautiful place with my husband. Everyday, I count my blessings, I’m a firm believer in that and that all things come to those who wait. And to experience such a beautiful country with the Love of my life was a dream come true. I’m truly thankful to him for planning this trip for us to experience together. I LOVED and ENJOYED every bit of it.
