Hey Loves, how are you? I hope everyone is having a great week so far!! I can’t complain, the weather is gorgeous in New York City now, and when the weather is on point, it does wonders for my mood and overall well-being. But for today’s post I want to talk about beauty + health. And in addition to my skin care routine and products here is another contributor to aiding in my overall health as well as having radiant skin.
As of late, I’ve been getting asked a lot of questions in regards to my skin. Everyone has been asking and saying that my skin looks FLAWLESS…. I’m my worst critic when it comes to my skin, because it’s come a long way to get to where it is today. But, nonetheless I appreciate the love, even though I know I have flaws here and there. If you haven’t read my post yet about my day and night time skin care routine, check it out. There you’ll find a list of my MUST HAVE products that I use and that have helped keep my skin hydrated, moisturized and glowing all year round.
As much as I LOVE make- up, my husband calls me a make up junkie. I love trying and testing out new products whether its drugstore or high end, I all about it. But there are times where I love having a bare face. The feeling of wearing no making is truly amazing too. I like to give my skin a break too from all the products and just let it breathe every now and then. So what do I do to get radiant, glowing, healthy, hydrated skin, you ask???? Keep reading and you’ll find out!! 🙂
I’ve preached about this to so many of my friends and family, because there are so many benefits from it. And not just beauty wise but for our overall health. As much as I’m big on beauty + fashion, I’m a huge advocate on staying healthy and leading a healthy life however I can. I mean think about it, I’ve preached about this to so many of my friends and family, because there are so many benefits from it. And not just beauty wise but for our overall health. As much as I’m big on beauty + fashion, I’m a huge advocate on staying healthy and leading a healthy life however I can. I mean think about it, we only have one body, so we might as well treat it right, right..?? Remember health is wealth and I believe in that 100%. So, I try to eat as best as I can, eating and choosing mostly natural and organic products. I’m big on feeding my husband, myself, family and friends only the healthiest, nutritious and oh so delicious types of foods. Being healthy overall, does wonders on your body and soul. And it goes a long way!
Here’s what I like to incorporate in my cooking, health and more….. I’ve always been a huge fan of coconuts, and my love for coconuts goes way back into my childhood days. I remember when my family and I would visit the motherland– The Philippines and we’d make a pit stops before heading to the province from Manila and my dad would get us all fresh coconuts from a local vendor. Straight from the tree, so organic and refreshing. And since then my love for coconuts has grown over the years. I make sure to stock up the fridge with a few bottles of coconut water for the week. And my all time favorite coconut water is by: Harmless Harvest. All natural and organic, and every time I sip on this water, I remember those days back in the Philippines when I had my first experience with fresh coconut water, straight from the tree to my mouth. You can’t get more fresh and organic than that.
In addition to drinking coconut water, I also LOVE snacking on raw coconut meat. And I’ve found that not only drinking coconut water but the raw coconut meat provides tremendous health and skin benefits. So, I believe that while drinking coconut water and snacking on the raw coconut meat as well as cooking with coconut oil has contributed in my clear, glowing skin. Below I’ve listed the benefits of Coconuts for our skin and overall health benefits.
Benefits of Coconuts (Coconut Oil, Eating Raw Meat and Drinking Coconut Water)
1. Aids in Weight Loss
2. Helps in Regulate Digestion
3. Eating Coconut Meat appears to protect agains Heart Disease and Stroke

5. Powerful Germ Fighter
6. Low in Calories and Sugar
7. Keeps your hydrated (When you drink coconut water)
8. Helps to promote Youthful, clearer and healthier skin
9. Consuming raw coconut oil can reduce the severity of bacterial and inflammatory skin conditions, such as eczema and psoriasis

11. Use Coconut Oil if you have dry skin– Helps to keep skin smooth, soft, moisturized and glowing

pain and reduces the risk of scarring and discoloration.
15. Coconut oil can help soothe inflamed sunburn skin. Reduces redness and rehydrates the skin.
Some may not like the taste of coconuts or believe in it’s benefits. The facts and tips speak for themselves. Not only am I a HUGE fan, and love coconuts, I believe in the benefits. I love using coconut oil for cooking as another healthier alternative as oppose to olive oil. I also use coconut oil for my hair as a hair masque once a week, giving me smooth, shiny and healthier looking hair. The possibilities and perks of coconuts are endless. If you haven’t tried coconut water, ate raw coconut meat, cooked with coconut oil or used it as a hair masque and more I highly recommend you try it. Trust me you WON’T regret it!!

** BUZZWORTHY TREND**
The white eye look is back and we’re just FLIPPING our lids over this trend. I remember doing this look a lot back in the 90’s and it looks like this beauty trend is back and better than EVER!! Back in the day, during my high school years, I was still exploring make-up. This look is SUPER easy and effortless and doesn’t take much time at all. Which is why this was my go to look back then. Back in the day, I used Wet & Wilds white eyeliner pencil or Bath & Body Works White eyeliner pencil. Another product I used was Prescriptives Creme Eyeshadow in the color Frosting. Not sure if they still make it but that was one of my go to products during my high school days. I would use it on my bottom lashes, the inner corners of my eyes, or just a swept over my lids, and thats it. Having the white eyeliner or eyeshadow on my eyes definitely gave me a more awake and fresh faced look. Contrary to our beliefs, this cool shade is so versatile, easy, and quite favorable, a Must-try.
This look is all the rave, its hit Fashion’s runways, Celebs like: Sarah Hyland, Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, and many more celebs have tried this look. And with this look being such a versatile beauty trend its GREAT for any season!
Using white eyeliners or shadows on the eyes– creates an automatic eye opener, brightens the eyes area, and a great change to your everyday make up routine. Don’t be afraid to try this out, try a gorgeous cat eye, or go bolder and mix it up with shadows. With the Fall season upon us, mix it up with some metallic eyeshadows. Might I add, Metallic eyeshadows are a MUST for the Fall season and the white eyeliner look is great for any season ……. SO, pair them together or mix it up…. Whatever you choose to do, you will be looking oh so chic and you’ll be right on trend!
Try these looks:
1. Gorgeous Cat- Eye
2. Mix it up with Metallic Eye Shadows
3. Duo eyeliner- BLACK & WHITE COMBO
