Ready to ring in the New Year in Style!
Feeling chic and badass in my outfit as I get ready to welcome 2017. Here, I mixed some high and low fashion and created this stylish, chic and badass look for New Year’s Eve. Great for NYE fun or even a night out on the town. Whatever the occasion you’ll be looking, fly, fashionable and fierce. I’m also sporting a new look for the new year! What can I say, I’m all about change and hey it’s 2017, a New Year, a New me–sporting the bangs look. A hairstyle I’ve always loved and rocked in years past, and I’m happy to sport this style in 2017. I must say, it goes well with my lob haircut and soft balayage hair color. So here’s a fun fact about me– during my college days I worked at Jasmine Sola in Boston, MA. While working there, I met some great friends, learned about fashion merchandising and got first hand experience working with the various brands we carried. In addition, I found myself becoming a denim specialist. I learned about various denim designers, the different styles and what style worked for each body type. When shopping for denim, I always say, “It’s always best to try on denim, see how the fit looks and if your derriere looks great their a winner!” Aside from that if they make you feel like a million bucks then it’s a win win. During my retail days, I enjoyed seeing my customers walk out of the store happy and feeling good about themselves, and I was part of that. I’ve always had a love for fashion, but working at Jasmine Sola made me realize my passion for fashion even more. Since working at Jasmine Sola, my love for fashion and labels have evolved over the years. I will admit, I’m always on the hunt for a fresh new pair of denim to add to my closet. My favorite jeans back then were: Seven Jeans, Joe’s, Paige and Citizens For Humanity to name a few. Nowadays, some of my fave denim brands are: Frame Denim, DL 1961, BlankNYC Jeans, and Rag and Bone.
These ones right here have become a personal favorite lately. The distressed, ripped styled make these great for a chic street style look. As you can see here, I’ve paired these jeans with a simple button down top, loafers and a scarf. Although the look was so simple it was still comfy and stylish all at the same time. This made for the perfect outfit to walk around the streets of Edinburgh during our visit to the UK back in late August, early September. You can wear this look just about anywhere and you’ll be looking fabulous! If you want to take this look from day to night, add some killer heels, a moto jacket and your favorite lipstick for a pop of color. And just like that you’ll be looking like a badass fashionista ready to hit the town! (Shop my favorites for a night time glam look) Shop my Look below.

This year I was invited to the annual Simply Stylist event here in NYC. It was held at the Yotel hotel on the west side in Midtown.
Simply Stylist : Founded in 2009, Simply Inc. is a beauty and fashion brand consultant
Our host for the day was none other than the fabulous Catt Sadler from E! Entertainment. The day was filled with speakers, influencers, entrepreneurs, reality stars and fellow bloggers like: Lauren Bushnell, Claire Sulmers of Fashionbomb Daily, Lilliana Vasquez from the Today Show, Vanessa Simmons, Kattanita of With Love Love From Kat, Jacey Duprie of Damsel in Dior and many more. It was great to hear from each speaker as they shared their experiences, trials and success over the years. The event overall was eye-opening, inspiring, enlightening and empowering. I enjoyed speaking and connecting one on one with some of the guest speakers– Liliana Vasquez, Claire Sulmers even our host Catt Sadler. Their words of wisdom and advice were admirable and inspiring. I know that I’ll utilize these tools and apply them to my blog, my growing business and in life. I’m grateful and humbled for the experience and the invite. It was a true pleasure to meet fellow Ladybosses and connect with a few. I look forward to connecting and collaborating with many more of you soon! I love meeting and connecting with fellow bloggers, lady bosses and entrepreneurs. Please feel free to write to me or leave a comment below. Not sure what to be for Halloween this year??
Well, you’re in luck, here are some Halloween Inspiration looks I created. Maybe one or all of these inspo looks may be something you’ll try this Halloween.
For the first look, I was inspired by none other than Snapchat. One of my fave filters is the Deer filter. I like the voice changer on this feature is just too cute. So I decided to recreate the filter.
These are the products I used. I always start off by priming my face with Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional, then I do my eyes and then the face.
Halloween Inspo Look #1
Eyes:
NYX Cosmetics: Eyeshadow Base in shade ESB03
Lorac Cosmetics: Entire Lids: Lorac Pro Matte Palette using Bare and Latte, Crease: mix Corduroy and Chocolate and blend together and blend out. Middle of the Lid: Lorac eyeshadow in shade Inspiration.
Inglot Cosmetics : Gel Eyeliner in shade 77
Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in the shade Chocolate. To create brow hairs similar to deers (for a more realistic effect), I used the Anastasia BH Brow Wiz and created fine lines. I also used NYX Cosmetics Eyeliner Pencil in Black and created more fine lines.
Face:
Foundation: Benefit Cosmetics Hello Flawless oil-free O2 Foundation in shade Hazelnut
Face Powder: Neutrogena Skinclearing Mineral powder in shade Honey Beige 70
Translucent Face Powder: Laura Mercier
Highlight: Mac Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish in shade: Soft and Gentle
Concealer: NYX Cosmetics Full Coverage Concealer in shade CJ01 Porcelain & Inglot Cream Concealer in the shade Anticeme Creme
Nose: Anastasia Contour Kit Medium to Tan using the darkest shade down the sides of my nose connecting up to my eyes. Down the middle I used a little of Inglot cream concealer in shade Anticrime creme and blended it. I used a white eyeshadow from the Lorac Eyeshadow Pro Palette to prevent creasing. For the tip of my nose, I used Inglots gel eyeliner in shade 77. To prevent creasing on my nose I patted the black eyeshadow from Lorac Eyeshadow Pro Palette.
Dots: I used white face paint
Lips:
Top lip: Tarte Cosmetics Dry matte lip paints in the color Naughty (Black)
Bottom Lip: Esos lip balm and then using Chanel’s Pinceau Levres Biseaute Angled Lip Brush and pat on Lorac Cosmetics eyeshadow color Inspiration to match the eyelids
And that’s the complete look with all the products I used to create this inspired look. I hope you try this look out and have fun with it, I sure did.
HALLOWEEN INSPO LOOK #2
Sexy Kitten
Eyes
Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer base in the color Sin
NYX Cosmetics Jumbo Eye Pencil in the color 601 Black bean, I used this all over my lid and smoked it out. Creating a base for my smokey eye. Blended the base out to begin the smokey effect. Proceed with eyeshadows to place over the base. (To prevent creasing)
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette, mixing the colors Blackout and Pistol for my crease. I also mixed the colors Verve and Snakebite to add a little sparkle to the crease. Blending all the colors and smoking them out, giving you the smoky effect. For the lids I used the colors Half-baked and Lorac Eyeshadow Pro Palette color Gold.
For eyeliner I used Inglot’s gel liner in shade 77, creating my signature winged line. I made my wing a little thicker.
To create the lines and point in the inner cover of the eyes use L’Oreal’s Infallible sculpt eyeliner in the color 904 black. Use the same line to create the whiskers and dots below your nose.
For the waterline I used NYX Cosmetics eyeliner pencil in the color black. I also used Inglot’s gel liner in black below my water line and midway below my water line and smudge it out. Then I used the gold eyeshadow (Lorac Eyeshadow Pro Palette) for below my waterline to the inner corners of my eye. Give the look a little dimension and making my eyes POP!
Face
Stowaway Cosmetics Radiant Complexion BB Cream in Shade Medium
Highlight: Lorac Cosmetics in the color Moonlight
Contour: Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, I mixed the medium shade and dark shade blended the two colors and chiseled and contoured my face. Enhancing my cheekbones and features.
Face Powder: Chanel in shade Les Beiges
Blush: Lorac Cosmetics in the color Chroma
Concealer: Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in shade Warm: Medium-Dark. Blend using beauty blender.
Translucent Setting Powder: Laura Mercier (For under eyes, forehead, bridge of my nose, chin, below my contour)
Nose: Use Inglot’s gel liner in shade 77 and then use black eyeshadow (Lorac Eyeshadow Pro Palette) over the liner to prevent creasing and movement.
Lips
Top Lip: Tarte Cosmetics Dry Matte Lipstick Paint sticks in the shade Naughty (Black)
Bottom Lip: L’oreals Lipstick in the color 406 Zoe’s Red
So for this look, I took my go to smokey eye look and just deepened it up a bit. Added some cat features, a cat ears headband turtleneck sweater and my Saint Laurent Leather jacket. And thats the complete look. Simple and easy, definitely something you can wear out if your looking for something last minute. Here are the products I used for this inspo look.

Eyes:
Left Side: Inglot’s Gel eyeliner in the shade 77 Black
Right Side: Creating a circle or an oval around the eye and over the eyebrows, use Inglot’s gel liner, then fill in all black. To prevent creasing and movement use a black eyeshadow to set the black around the eye. I used the black and sparkle olive green shadows from my Be Bella Cosmetics eyeshadow palette. Smudge and smoke out around the eye area.
Lips:
Red Lips: Palladio Cosmetics Lip liner in the color Rockin’ Red, top it off with Revlon’s Lipstick in the color True Red
Black Lips: Jordana Cosmetics Sweet Cream Matte liquid Lip Color in the color Witchy Night
Top off the look with a flower crown as seen here. I bought mine at the Halloween store, but you could totally make one of your own using real flowers or even silk flowers. The choice is all up to you. This look is easy and fun to create. I also created loose curls to make the look more feminine and sweet as oppose to scary and gorey, but it’s totally up to you. Still a fun look overall.
Halloween Inspo Look #4
Dia De Los Muertos inspired by @SincerelyJules look
Eyes:
Creating a circles or oval shapes around the eyes and over the eyebrows, using Inglot’s gel liner, fill in all black. To prevent creasing and movement use a black eyeshadow to set the black around the eye. I used the black and a mixture of blue shadows from my Eyes Lips Face Cosmetics eyeshadow palette. Smudge and smoke out around the eye area. Once all the eyes are filled in black, create half circle or petals around the eyes as seen above. Once you’ve created your flower eyes, fill in the petals with blue shadows (from my Eyes Lips Faces eyeshadow palette). For each petal I added some rhinestones (these stones are ones you’d use on your nails, I bought these from Sally’s Beauty Supply store). I applied them with Duo glue, the kind of glue you’d use for false eyelashes.
** You can use any colors you’d like to create this look. These are the colors I chose when I decided to create this look. But it’s up to you, have fun with it, have fun with make up and colors 🙂 **
