Can you believe it’s already September?

I feel like every year the Summer months just fly by. The Summer baby and lover in me wants to hold onto Summer for as long as I can. Luckily, the weather in New York City is still warm enough that we can still enjoy the summer heat just a little longer while longer….

When it comes to shopping for swim suits, I’m very indecisive and picky. I always have to make sure the fit looks right, and of course I want it to look flattering on me as well. So, when Eco Swim by Aqua Green contacted me to work together, I was excited to collaborate together, but was unsure about receiving a swimsuit without trying it on. But I’m happy I took the plunge to see how they create sustainable, fashionable swimsuits and clothing all at the same time.

I received my cover-up and swimsuit just in time for our trip to Miami. The fit was just right and quite flattering to my body. My body type is fit but curvy.  I’m always overly conscious of my bust area. But, thankfully the fit was just right, and I loved the black polka dot design on the swimsuit. Not only was it cute but stylish and chic all at the same time.  The cover-up was great as well. It can be styled on its own, or paired with these cute shorts (as seen on me) or even a mini skirt. Here, I paired their Jacquard Collar White Cover-Up with some cute black and white patterned  shorts. [I’ll have all the links to each item listed below].  Overall, I’m happy with the fit and style of the swimsuit and cover-up. Even after a few washes the material has still held up and looks brand new. The quality on both the cover up and swimsuit is simply amazing.

What I admire most about Eco Swim is their message and mission behind their brand. I’m all about leading a healthy lifestyle and living in a healthy, safe world and they do all that and more. Eco Swim is a 4th generation family run business, that not only cares about the materials they use but how they are created and produced. They’ve created something that sustainable and fashionable with dual purpose. Consumers are given amazing quality and planet-friendly swimwear that ’s not only better for you but for the entire planet. How can you not LOVE that!Their motto is “reducing your carbon footprint in the sand.” The work they do is truly amazing!

Aside from creating fashionable, sustainable swimwear, Eco Swim strives to help keep beaches and rivers clean. ECO SWIM is committed to several beach and river cleanups each year through retail partnerships.”  [ECO SWIM BY AQUA GREEN] With the help and partnership of many retailers they have removed 6,600 lbs of trash from our oceans and waters and continue to do so.  Their mission and philosophy,

“ ECO SWIM is a way of life. It’s the journey of learning to love, respect, and have a sense of responsibility for our planet. It’s about appreciating the past, enjoying the present, and anticipating the future. It’s protecting what is important to you while creating a better world for tomorrow.”

The more and more I learn and read about this company, I’m happy to have partnered and collaborated with them. I believe in the brand even more, seeing all the good they are doing for our planet, is truly remarkable. Their swimsuits and clothing are designed and created out of recycled nylons and other eco-friendly materials, which are all made in America. Thank you Eco Swim for collaborating and partnering with me on this post. All thoughts are my own.

The sun’s out and the heat is back in NYC. So, you know what that means… It’s ROOFTOP SEASON.  So grab your best gals and guys and hit the social scene. With the hot Summer nights upon us, check out the best and hottest rooftops in NYC enjoying the amazing views of the Big Apple while enjoying your favorite cocktail. Here’s my list for the top 10 Best and Hottest Rooftops in NYC to check out.

ZERZURA –  Formally known as The Plunge at the Gansevoort Meatpacking. The lounge has since been transformed into this modern Saharian inspired chic and stylish rooftop venue located in the famous Meatpacking district. Offering light bites, cocktails, great music, stunning views of NYC, and an overall great time. Who wouldn’t want to join the party. If you haven’t checked out this ultra plush and luxe rooftop bar and lounge, you should. Grab your girls, take your out of town guest, or if your visiting the NYC area be sure to visit Zerzura. Enjoy the social scene, the spectacular views and you might even spot a celeb or two… So ladies get ready to paint the town red and gents dress your best, grab a drink and enjoy the day/night. Located at: 18 9th Avenue at W 13th Street

LOOPY DOOPY – Now this rooftop is one of my favorites. A seasonal rooftop bar and lounge, a great mix to a happy hour and dessert. A modern lounge offering lite fares, craft cocktails, with stunning views of the harbor and the Statue of Liberty. This hidden gem is located at the Conrad Hotel in Battery Park at: 102 North End Avenue. My fave part about this place is their alcohol infused ice pops a great touch to your cocktail during those hot, steamy NYC nights. Best nights to check this gem out: Friday, Saturday and Sunday. My fave is the Prosecco with their signature pops.

ST. CLOUD- This upscale and luxurious rooftop is one not to miss. I mean the name says it all. Located in the heart of Times Square, with stunning views, lush living walls of greenery and private spaces, this is the ultimate rooftop and place to hangout especially during the summer months. A great escape after work to enjoy a cocktail, small bites by Charlie Palmer, and if your into Cigars this would be the ideal spot for you to visit. Located at the Knickerbocker Hotel at:  6 Times Square.

LE BAIN- Also located in the Meatpacking District this seasonal rooftop is the perfect spot to visit after a long day at the office or even a weekend hangout. This penthouse discotheque takes over the entire top area of the Standard hotel, offering a plunge pool, creperie and stunning views of lower manhattan. If you’re ever in the Meatpacking district stop by,  enjoy a cocktail, catch some sun, enjoy the views, take a dip or even take a bite out of a savory crepe.

230 FIFTH GARDEN ROOFTOP BAR AND LOUNGE –  This has to be my all time favorite rooftop. This was the first rooftop bar that I discovered and went to 9 years ago when I first moved to NYC. And it’s remain a staple and favorite of mine. Known as the largest outdoor garden rooftop in all of NYC with an enclosed penthouse rooftop and stunning views of Midtown and the Empire State Building. If your in the midtown area or just looking for a place to take in stunning views of the city that are postcard and Instagram worthy, check out 230 Fifth, which is also the address for this hotspot.

PHD ROOFTOP –  If your looking for the ultimate party head on over to the PHD Rooftop bar and lounge. With iconic panoramic views of the Manhattan Skyline, equipped with chandeliers, marble and a terrance, PHD Rooftop is the hottest party spot to visit this summer. Grab a bite, enjoy a cocktail and dance the night away at PHD Rooftop, this is one party you don’t want to miss. Located at the nightspot destination the Dream Hotel at: 355 W 16th St.

MR. PURPLE-  This ultra sexy and posh rooftop is located at the Hotel Indigo in the Lower East Side. With stunning views of lower Manhattan and two opposing roof decks this hidden gem will be a sizzling spot this summer. I mean even the name sounds sexy. Go for brunch, enjoy afterwork cocktails, host a party there, whatever the situation maybe this is one hot spot you’ll want to check out. Located at: 180 Orchard St. 15th floor of Indigo hotel.

LA PISCINE-  It’s not as flashy or luxe like most of the NYC Rooftops, but it’s the perfect place to sit back, relax while enjoying a few cocktails on a nice summer evening. Take a dip and enjoy an all day pass at their pool for as low as $40. Can’t beat that!  Catch some sun and lounge on one of their daybeds and do try the food. No matter what you order you’ll sure be greeted and served by the friendliest staff you’ll ever meet. Located at the chic Chelsea Hotel Americano which overlooks the high line. Sit back, relax and enjoy! Great spot to get after work drinks, best nights: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Located at: 518 W 27th st.

ROOF AT PARK SOUTH-This last rooftop bar is located in the Flatiron area. With stunning views of the Chrysler Building and the NYC Skyline. Miami+ Little Havana+ SOBEFWFF2016

Posted on: May 9, 2016

Back in late February into early March, I cruised to the Western Caribbean from Miami. But before the cruise and the Western Caribbean, I began the vacation in Sunny Miami.
Welcome to Miami, benvenido a  Miami! Miami, one of my favorite cities, full of life, color, character, and not to mention so much fun. I’ve always loved the vibe and energy that Miami gives whenever I visit. One rule of thumb in life: Remember to take some time and get some good R&R.  Miami was a great city to begin our vacation. A nice break from the hustle and bustle of New York City. It’s always good for the soul and overall health and wellness to take a break to recharge. Taking a break and go on vacations — getting some good R&R will help you do better in all facets of your work and life.
I just wrapped on all the Fashion Week hoopla and it was the perfect time to take a much needed vacation to relax and unwind in warmer climates. I stayed at the 1 hotel South Beach located at: 2343 Collins Avenue, Miami, FL 33129.  This was my second time staying at the 1Hotel.
This has to be one of my favorite hotels on South beach with so much to offer. This boutique beachfront hotel offers great views of the beach, close to many restaurants, bars, lounges, and more. I try and live a healthy balanced life. And what I love most about this mission-based luxury hotel is that nature is the main inspiration behind everything this hotel stands for and is about.  Just when you arrive, you feel like your transported to paradise and feel can feel the positive, tranquil and comforting vibes the hotel gives off. If you want to relax, feel at peace, with not a care in the world this is the place to stay and visit. The staff is simply amazing, pleasant, inviting, and very hospitable. When you visit and stay here you’ll feel right at home. When you stay at 1 Hotel south beach, their accommodations are so inviting. They offer modern, contemporary rooms and suites that are bright, spacious along with stunning beachfront views, absolute paradise a great vacation escape.  Seeing that we were leaving on Sunday for our cruise, the hotel was conveniently close to the Port of Miami (just about 6.5 miles away, a quick uber or taxi ride),  the famous Lincoln Road and the Architectural District.
Even though on vacation I still like to stay on track, by eating well balanced meals as well as exercising as much as I can. 1hotel South beach nature inspired hotel also shares the journey of health, wellness and their mission is to making everything just a little bit better. So when you stay at any of their properties, enjoy great food and fresh cold press juices from their lobby restaurant and shop Nativ Made. Take a yoga class by the beach, or spin to the beats at SOBE’s Soul Cycle location.  So whatever you fancy, the possibilities are endless.  So if you’re ever in the Miami area or a Florida native be sure to visit 1 Hotel South Beach. They also have locations in NYC: Central Park and Brooklyn. Trust me when I say this is one hotel you’ll want to check out and stay at.

The interior of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Bright, serene and stunning. Every itch of this vacation oasis was beautiful and so instagrammable. If you know me, you know I don’t give up any opportunity for a great photo, so I went a lil photo crazy and if you could imagine I was just snapping away. I couldn’t help but take so many photos of the inside and outside views. You’ll see what I mean from the photos. Absolutely breathtaking!
During my stay, I wanted to visit places I hadn’t seen before. I ventured to Little Havana to enjoy some good, authentic Cuban food. It was time to explore and enter the realms of “The Real Miami.” When you think of Miami, the first thing that comes to mind is: South Beach, Lincoln Road and Collin Avenue. The 3 main areas that are heavily publicized.  But what most people don’t know is that Miami’s culture is heavily influenced and dates back to the Cuban origins and latin flavors. Little Havana is literally minutes away from the South Beach strips, and LH (Little Havana) is also a strip made up of  local eateries, clubs and theaters of latin vibes. I like to explore and discover local gems, eateries, and experience something I’ve never tired. Even though my visit was short, I was able to experience some of the nightlife, enjoyed great food and immerse myself with the locals+natives. I loved dancing to the latin beats at a local bar+lounge featuring a local band. What a fun way to enjoy part a Saturday evening. I ate arroz con pollo, mojitos and empanadas at: El Cristos Restaurant located at:1543 SW 8th st. There you’ll find authentic Cuban food all day everyday. Also, stop by and enjoy a drink or dance to the latin beats of local bands at: Hoy Como Ayer located at: 2212 SW 8th St.
For the rest of the evening I ventured back towards the hotel and enjoyed the rest of the night at the SOBEFWF2016. If you know me or follow me on Instagram (@SocialFashionistaBeauty), you know by now that I’m a big foodie.  I enjoy trying new things and I enjoy good, quality food,  paired with the right wine or spirits. Good food+wine+ spirits and meeting new friends makes for a great time and experience. Working in the PR industry, seeing celebrities is nothing new for me. But it’s always nice to see familiar faces especially of my favorite TV personalities and chefs like: Al Roker and Giada. This was my first time at SOBEFWF and even though our experience was short we still had a great time. We were both in foodie heaven. For first timers to the festival made sure to take it all in and enjoy every minute of it. We then headed back to our hotel enjoyed a nightcap and headed to bed.
The next morning, I packed up m things and headed to the Port of Miami. Even though I only stayed one night at 1Hotel SOBE, I still had a great time. I look forward to the next visit. Hopefully I get to stay longer, enjoy more of the amenities, and discover more of what the 1hotel SOBE has to offer..
I know this post took awhile for me to put up….. But I wanted to be give you all an insight to our vacation from start to finish. Stay tuned for my next post that will explore in detail all the places we visit during our cruise to the Western Caribbean. Stay tuned!! Thanks again for stopping by, reading along, and traveling +exploring with me!
