SFB StreetStyle Chic: Denim Style

Posted on: November 18, 2016

So here’s a fun fact about me– during my college days I worked at Jasmine Sola in Boston, MA. While working there, I met some great friends, learned about fashion merchandising and got first hand experience working with the various brands we carried. In addition, I found myself becoming a denim specialist. I learned about various denim designers, the different styles and what style worked for each body type. When shopping for denim, I always say, “It’s always best to try on denim, see how the fit looks and if your derriere looks great their a winner!” Aside from that if they make you feel like a million bucks then it’s a win win. During my retail days, I enjoyed seeing my customers walk out of the store happy and feeling good about themselves, and I was part of that. I’ve always had a love for fashion, but working at Jasmine Sola made me realize my passion for fashion even more.  Since working at Jasmine Sola, my love for fashion and labels have evolved over the years. I will admit, I’m always on the hunt for a fresh new pair of denim to add to my closet. My favorite jeans back then were: Seven Jeans, Joe’s, Paige and Citizens For Humanity to name a few. Nowadays, some of my fave denim brands are: Frame Denim, DL 1961, BlankNYC Jeans, and Rag and Bone.

These ones right here have become a personal favorite lately. The distressed, ripped styled make these great for a chic street style look. As you can see here, I’ve paired these jeans with a simple button down top, loafers and a scarf. Although the look was so simple it was still comfy and stylish all at the same time.  This made for the perfect outfit to walk around the streets of Edinburgh during our visit to the UK back in late August, early September. You can wear this look just about anywhere and you’ll be looking fabulous! If you want to take this look from day to night, add some killer heels, a moto jacket and your favorite lipstick for a pop of color. And just like that you’ll be looking like a badass fashionista ready to hit the town! (Shop my favorites for a night time glam look) Shop my Look below.

First rule of thumb, comfort first! But if they’re Jimmy Choo’s then all bets are off! 🙂 Well, it may also depend on the shoe and situation. But I do love a good Jimmy Choo heel, I mean am I right!?!!! Who doesn’t love JIMMY CHOO!! <3

My go-to shoe of choice lately have been flats. Whether it be a loafer, slip-on sneaker, brogues you name it I’m wearing it. I couldn’t be happier that flats– particularly loafers and brogues are on trend and back in style. As much as I appreciate and LOVE heels, I always think: “Comfort first,” no matter what the occasion may be. And let me tell you, when I’m wearing any form of flats it’s like walking on clouds, and not to mention my feet are beyond thankful. This menswear inspired footwear comes in varying styles and price points. Very versatile, stylish and suitable for any outfit and occasion. A trend I believe will be around for awhile.  Here are a few of my favorites. Shop these styles by clicking the links below.

This was without a doubt my favorite outfit I wore during NYFW. The ruffles were a great added detail to the sleeves. The ruffles made the dress fun, playful and chic.  I know these photos may look familiar, you may have seen them in my “Shopstyle Social House Post.” I couldn’t help but share the look again in it’s own post. Because it was that good, at least in my opinion. 🙂

The off the shoulder look was one style that I rocked all summer long. It’s such a flattering style that suits everyone. What’s great about this dress, I can wear this look again this Fall. The dark denim color is perfect for the season. Great for the day time seen here or even for a night on the town. No matter what time of day you wear this number, you’ll be turning heads all over. Everyone will want to know where to buy this dress. One dress you’ll want to own. Shop my look by clicking the links below.
