SFB Fall Look: Shades of Olive Green

Posted on: September 28, 2018

“I have always believed that fashion was not only to make women more beautiful, but also to reassure them, give them confidence.” — Yves Saint Laurent

I love taking great staple pieces and dressing them up and accessorizing! When you look good you feel even better. Loved this look that I styled. I wore this outfit to a Red Carpet event in New York City. It was super chic and fashionable. A simple look, but super glam all at the same time. I paired it with these stunning rose gold heels by Who What Wear. What I also love about this look its very versatile. You can dress it up, down, whatever you decide you’ll be looking fashionable and fabulous.

If your looking to style this for a more dressed down, casual look, pair it with some white sneakers and a jean jacket. For a more dressy night out look wear some fun black patterned tights, black or tan knee high boots and either a black blazer or even an overcoat. The possibilities are endless with this number. I would definitely wear this look again, and definitely style it in different ways. I’ll most definitely share via Instagram,  Pinterest, and my other social media platforms.

SFB Motivational Mondays: Quotes, Mantras and Songs for Inspiration, motivation and more.

Posted on: August 15, 2017

Hi Loves!

Happy Monday! Can you believe it’s August already??!! How did that happen, the months are just flying by. I know it’s been some time since you last heard from me. I took some time for myself, to re-group, re-center and re-evaluate a few things for the blog and just with myself. I can’t stress to you all enough how important self-care is, I’ll be talking about self-care in a separate post. But it’s important to always take care of yourself in all facets. Whether it be physically, emotionally, mentally, whatever the case is, do you and be good to yourself. Being good to yourself and give yourself and your body the love and care it needs. It’s not only important but it good for your overall health and of course your soul as well. Just something to think about.

Anyway, here are a few quotes, mantras and songs that keep me going throughout my days. If ever your feeling down, lost, undetermined, unfocused, unmotivated find meaningful quotes, music or even mantras that will help you through your days. Working out can be a great source of release as well. Great stress reliever as well as a mind clearer. Plus, it gets those endorphins going and those happy, positive vibe radiate out of you. This can also do wonders for you as well. A breath of fresh air and getting outside is a great thing to do for yourself. It clears the mind, and helps you re-center your thoughts.

These quotes, mantras and songs have done wonders for me and I hope they can do the same for you. They help me get through those tough days, challenges and any bumps I may be facing at the time. They help me stay positive, keep focus on what’s important, motivate me, inspire and keep me staying determined always. For me, quotes, music and certain mantras have helped me get through a lot of my darker times and moments in my life. I also lean on the support of my amazing, loving husband, family and friends. Having a strong support system is also crucial to help you get through those tough times. But know you are never alone, and we all go through it in our lives. Just remember we will all get through any challenges, obstacles, struggles, bumps, hurdles that life throws at us. Another way to help you get you thru your days is always staying positive and optimistic. I can’t stress this enough. When you shift your mindset, and just give out and spread only positive thoughts and vibes it can do wonders on your overall attitude on life and any challenges you may be facing. I know this isn’t always easy at times, we are human and we can falter sometimes and have moments of doubt and uncertainty within ourselves. But we must try and create and believe in ourselves and the positive energy we possess. We all have it in us, we just need to harness it, spread it and believe in it. Anything is possible, just remember that.

Lastly, another great way to stay positive and help you through anything is the power of prayer. Turning to God or your choice of worship can help keep the momentum and positivity going for yourself. Don’t underestimate the power of prayer, God is always listening and watching. He will always send a sign and listen to our prayers. God is good, I truly believe that.

Here are my favorite quotes, mantras and songs that keep me going:

I hope this help you all. Remember you are not alone. We can all share and learn from one another. Please share your ways to keep yourself motivated, inspired, empowered and determined. I love hearing from you all and I love how we can inspire and empower one another.

As always thanks for reading, following along and supporting the journey!

SFB Beauty: Kopari with Me

Posted on: June 13, 2017

Hey there Loves!

I hope you’re all having a great week so far! With the Summer weather in full swing, I wanted to share with you a brand and their products that I’m absolutely loving!

I’ve told you before, I have a huge obsession with coconuts. I also shared all the amazing benefits they have for your overall health and even beauty. If you missed that post you can read all about it here. A few post ago on my Instagram, I shared my newest product obsession with the brand Kopari. Kopari, is a slimmed-down version of the word ‘kopparai’ in Indian it means coconut. Coconut’s are the fruit of all fruits that have the most amazing benefits.

Coconuts are a delicious and nutritious source of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. It has tons of calcium, potassium, and magnesium, as well as plenty of electrolytes. Coconuts are full of diverse health benefits from protecting against heart diseases to preventing tooth decay! They can also protect against heart disease by increasing good cholesterol and lowering the ratio of bad and good cholesterol. They help treat malnutrition because it is easy to digest and absorb. Coconut’s also have great beauty benefits too.

Coconut oil can make your skin feel and look radiant! Who doesn’t want glowing skin!!? You skin feels smooth, hydrated, supple and moisturized. Coconut oil is made with fatty acids and the good kind that have great overall benefits: Lauric, Capric and Caprylic acids. These are good fats that help keep skin hydrated and super soft. Most importantly, it contains vitamin E , which is loaded with antioxidants to keep skin ageless and protect against dryness. Great anti-aging components that will keep us looking beautiful and youthful. Not only does coconut oil do wonders on your skin but your hair too. Coconut oil can make your hair look and feel soft, luscious, strong, shiny and healthy. Coconuts are full of restorative proteins and vitamin E which help to increase body and shine to your hair.

Kopari takes coconut oil to the next level… Only using pure, innovative, organic ingredients to enhance its overall performance. Now, how can you not want to try Kopari after all hearing all of it’s amazing benefits.

Say Aloha to Kopari Beauty—where every product starts with 100% organic coconut oil and is made with the purest intentions. So you always know your beauty is safe with us. And best of all, performs like a dream.

With Kopari, you can coconut with confidence because:

  • We use 100% pure, organic coconut oil sourced from the Philippines.
  • All of our products are made as natural as possible with the safest ingredients. Pinky swear.
  • No sulfates. No silicones. No parabens. No GMOs. No toxins. No kidding.
  • We don’t compromise performance (nope, not ever). Our products are absolutely effective, salon quality, spa-worthy, beauty bombshells.
  • We use the right blend of pure ingredients with cutting-edge chemistry to enhance the benefits of coconut oil. This secret sauce delivers better results than conventional products.
  • We believe in being totally transparent about our formulas and stand by every ingredient decision we make. No really, ask us anything.

It’s made out of only the purest and organic ingredients. How does Kopari’s coconut oil differ from other coconut oils? Kopari’s coconut oil isn’t like your typical cooking oil. It’s not yellowish like most coconut oils, it’s clear, white and non- fragrant. It’s paradise in a jar, literally!  In fact, it’s strictly for all things beauty related. High quality coconut oil for the skin and hair, sustainably sourced from a small family farm in the Philippine islands.  So, I can tell you from personal experience– Kopari’s products are highly organic and pure. Another plus, they’re from my native homeland of the Philippines, where I can guarantee you everything there is not only beautiful but pure and honest. All there products in my opinion, are must-haves and great for the Summer season.  {The result? The highest quality coconut oil with the finest aroma, absorption, and texture. The bottom line is we love and nurture our coconuts every step of the way so we can consistently deliver you the most high-end product. Discover what thousands of Kopari fans have said about our Coconut Melt… this is no “grocery grade” oil and will become a staple in your beauty regimen}!

My absolute favorite product from Kopari is their Organic Coconut Melt . This is the holy grail of all Coconut oils. It’s straight up 100% coconut oil that’s so pure you’ll truly be amazed! I absolutely love coconut oil, especially this product from Kopari. There are so many ways to use it, here are ways you can incorporate Kopari’s Organic Coconut melt  into your beauty routine and reap all it’s necessary benefits.

7 Ways to Use Coconut Melt and it’s benefits:

SFB Monday Motivation

Posted on: June 12, 2017

Hey Loves!

Happy Monday! It’s a new week, it’s time to get out there and take on the new day and what the week will bring. I want to start engaging with you more, and motivating and take you along my journey. Just as I continue on my path and journey, I’d like to take you along with me keeping you motivating and staying on course. Every week, we can help each other and motivate one another. No matter what your goals are, remember to change your focus, remain optimistic and stay positive. We will have our set back and failures, but remember you can alway get back on the horse and try again. Life isn’t a marathon its a sprint, and we are the ones in control no one else. I never said the journey would be easy but I did say that the journey would be worth it.

In life, we will face challenges, obstacles and hurdles. But it’s all part of the journey and experience. Remember to say “I can” instead of  “I can’t.” Because you can, no matter what anyone says, you can. Remember you will always have haters in life, let them. Everyone will have an opinion, everyone will judge, let them. Why? Because, they are just projecting their own insecurities and flaws onto you, because they don’t have your strength, will and determination. Plus, think about this, if you didn’t have any haters, you wouldn’t be doing something right…. In some way, shape or form, deep down, they are inspired by what you do, but because of their own insecurities they choose to hate. Why hate when we are all on working towards something, aren’t we? They choose to be negative instead being positive don’t give them the satisfaction. Don’t waste your time on the haters, don’t lose sight of your goals, keep the momentum going. Work hard, stay focus, and always be humble and grateful for all everything. Be thankful for this life you have and the life you have created. You only have one life, be good to it and it will be good to you. Take a deep breath, and enjoy everything that life offers. Enjoy life’s moments, don’t let a moment pass you by. Time doesn’t stand still, it just keeps going faster each passing year. So live in each moment that takes your breath away.

Lastly, trust and believe in your path. Trust and believe, you are on this journey for the right reasons. Make all the hard work count. Do everything with a passion and purpose. I guarantee you, it will all pay off and be worth it in the long run.

NYFW Kickoff: The Nylon Project

Posted on: February 8, 2017

Hey Loves!

It’s been a great winter so far. January was the perfect time to decompress, reflect and settle into the new year. It’s February and you know what that means….. Time for the fun and madness to begin all over again. This is my favorite time of year and as a New Yorker, I’m thrilled that we get to enjoy two seasons of it every year! NYFW!

——–

This season, I kicked off NYFW attending my first two events of the season. My NYFW began with an event that wasn’t just about fashion but an event to bring hope and to empower those in need. Here’s a personal fact about me: I’m all about giving back and bringing awareness to causes and organizations that have a positive and profound message behind it. This event brought together influencers, celebrities, public figures and more to enjoy a night of fashion, live performances and of course the launch of  The NYLON PROJECT. This is an amazing project founded by Jordana Guimaraes, an initiative to aid the homeless in NYC through fashion + entertainment via a viral #ItCanBeYou campaign. Homelessness is a real thing that many of us don’t even think about because it isn’t happening to us. We may not be experiencing the struggles that many are facing all over the world, but it could happen to any of us at any given time. It’s happening now in our society and many of us see it but sometimes don’t want to face it. The evening brought us all together during NYFW to highlight the current circumstances of those in need. I’m happy to take part in this project and honored to have attended the event. The Nylon Project begins in NYC and with our efforts, the project will go globally.
The NYLON Project took place at The Delancey in New York City, guests enjoyed live performances, a runway show, industry networking + much more.
Be part of the cause and help make this campaign go VIRAL. Let’s all help bring awareness and raise funds to aid the homeless. Go to: https://www.gofundme.com/the-nylon-project . Hopefully we all can change lives and make a difference for those in need.
Celebrities which included Christina Milian, Jenni Farley (JWOWW), Wé McDonald of Season 11 of The Voice, Gender Capitalist Rain Dove, Peter Madrigal of Vanderpump Rules, Miss New York 2016 Nicole Kulovany, Rachel Lynch of I Hate Blonde walked the runway sharing stories of just a few of the homeless we have encountered in the last few months.
Performances by the FAULKNER band from Los Angeles, Che’Nelle – singer/songwriter, Wé McDonald of Season 11 of the Voice took place.

Sponsored brands included Anje Clothing, Belle Fare, Fair Harbor, JayDee, Eternal Springs, SCRD, Wild Mantle, SoFrancisco, Karli Buxton, The Valencia, Mana Made Jewelry, Lonewolf Collective, HERO New York, Conscious Step, Mr. Custom Made, ARMARIUM, House of Eleven and Alkemi Collective.

Other sponsors included Christo Fifth Avenue + Guilty Beauty Gal – responsible for all make-up & hair as well as Latoya Mcleary responsible for styling the show.

Digital sponsor StayFilm created a platform in which everyone can use moving forward to assemble images & videos of what they’re doing to aid the homeless in their community and turn it into a video which can be shared on social media via our #ItCanBeYou.

Special thanks to CommGroup (branding agency in Brazil), as they assembled the logo/branding concept for The NYLON Project. They designed the logo to implement an image of the streets/sidewalks, since that’s where “home” is for the homeless.

Video sponsor Vocab Entertainment was responsible for creating the first film/documentary for The NYLON Project – CLICK HERE

SFB Gets Personal: New Year, New Me: Resolutions and Goals for 2017

Posted on: December 26, 2016

Hi Loves!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with family and friends. I hope it was filled with much love, happiness and joy. The holidays for me were spent with family and friends on the West coast. It was great to see family that my husband and I hadn’t seen in quite some time. As well as, spend some quality time with our immediate family too. As I’ve mentioned before, the holidays and the time of the year, gives me all sorts of the feels, and every year I’m filled with many emotions. Mostly good ones but as I’ve said the holidays and the time of the year always gives me the feels. In just a few days, we turn the page and close the book to 2016 and welcome the new year. Although 2016 was a year filled with much success, love, new friendships, and amazing memories I’m ready to welcome 2017 and see what it has to offer. One of the new things I will add to my blog is a section where I get a little more personal with you al. Although, I feel like I get pretty personal already, I wanted all of you to get to know me a little more. So, for 2017 I will get a little more personal and share more of my life with you all. While also continuing to inspire, enlightened and empower you.

With 2017 just days away, I don’t know about you but I always like to set goals for myself for the new year. Some may refer to them as resolutions, but I like to make goals for myself. Goals that are realistic, positive and ones that will be good for me in the long run. I hope you all can join me and set some goals for yourself as well. We’re all in this together, right?! Set goals that are realistic, ones that you do for you.

Here are my Resolutions/Goals for 2017:

  1. Don’t sweat the small stuff
  2. Try more New Things
  3. Make more time for family and friends
  4. Explore more
  5. Make time for “Me” time
  6. Live more in the moment and never let a day pass you by
  7. Stay fit, Be active and Stay Healthy
  8. Don’t let work get the best of me and know when to step away
  9. Continue to be inspired, enlightened and empowered
  10. Continue to be Happy 🙂

Get to know me more, reasons behind the goals and resolutions:

One of the things many don’t know, and I will admit is that I wear my heart on my shoulders. I’m human, and someone who cares and one who has a big heart. And at times, I can let me emotions get the best of me. I often let things get to me more so than they should. I tend to “sweat” (so to speak) the small stuff and let it get the best of me. But for 2017, I will try my best to not to be bothered by things so easily and to not sweat the small stuff.

Sometimes, I can get too involved in my work (because I love what I do, and feel very passionate about it) that I don’t know when to step away. For 2017, I will learn to make more time for myself, my husband, my family and friends. Work will always be there, and I will remain dedicated to my life’s passion, while also making more time for the people I love and care about. I’ll also know when to turn the phone off and step away. For 2017, I will be more conscientious to turn off and step away ( the phone and computer and from work). I’ll live more in the moment and never let anything pass me by.

As a blogger,  avid photo taker and IGer– I will admit that I have become overly obsessed in trying to get the “perfect shot.” Sometimes, I will admit I strive for perfection way too much. But I’ve also learned that it’s  ok to not be so perfect. I mean, imperfections is what makes us all unique in our own way. So, maybe I won’t have the perfect photo every time, that’s ok by me. For 2017, I will learn to love my imperfections while continuing to stay true to myself.

I’ve always lived by the rule: It’s ok to indulge one in awhile. But like many of us, I too can get carried away with that saying. But I’m turning the tables and getting back on track. I truly believe that 2017 is my year, and the year for all of us. For 2017, I will commit to staying fit, being active and healthy. We only have one life and body so we gotta treat it right, right?! So whose with me?

I like to call myself an adventurous soul, who loves learning and trying new things. I want to continue this for the new year and years to come. I don’t want to limit myself and I want to be more open to new things. So for 2017, I will continue to be open to trying and learning new things.

And lastly, although I characterize myself as a very happy and content person. I always set this goal for myself every year. There were times in my life where I wasn’t so happy and content, but I left those dark days behind me and have been so much happier ever since. I mean it’s not hard to stay happy when you have the love of your life by your side, great friends who are like family and family whose been by my side through and through. So for 2017, I’ll continue to be happy and I hope my happiness can add sunshine to your lives too!

I look forward to sharing more about myself with you all, more on beauty, fashion, lifestyle and travel, and continue to inspire, empower and enlighten you in 2017! Let’s make 2017 AMAZING!!

What are your goals/resolutions for 2017?

As always, thanks for reading, following along and supporting me in my journey!

Inspiration: The Power of Social Platforms and How they’ve made an impact on our society and it’s ways of being Empowering, Inspiring, and Uplifting

Posted on: October 13, 2015

Last week, I had the pleasure to lunch with a fellow blogger, who I met during fashion week. We met at at Cafe Minera. A  little cafe that many NYC bloggers hangout. Sit and enjoy a latte while admiring the beautiful brownstones in front of the this cozy spot located in the ever-so trendy and chic West Village. Sitting in this cafe you can definitely get the creative juices flowing. We also found that with such large windowpanes and awesome nature light seeping in it made for a great photo op! (We were lucky enough to enjoy it on a beautiful Fall Sunny Day).  It was so great to meet and chat with a new blogger friend . I enjoyed our discussions on life, blogging, what inspires us and so much more. One of the things we talked about is the inspiration behind this blog post: the power of social media in particularly: Instagram.

Social Media has shaped the way of our society, its help build and grow businesses, connecting people in such a unique way. Social platforms such as instagram, facebook, twitter, and snapchat are just some explains to show how technology has evolved and how it will continue to in the future.  It goes to show that by using these platforms, it can not only be beneficial but a great tool in taking your business to the next level.

No matter what we do in life or who we meet along the way, the people we meet whether positive or negative can make some kind of impact on us.  I’ve felt this way in my years working in Public Relations and Talent Management. And now, diving in head first as a full pledge blogger I see this too, but through social media in particularly instagram.  I’ve discovered a newfound appreciation for social media and how it’s been a driving force for gaining inspiration for my blog, a means to grow and build my brand, and one of the main resources in meeting and creating new relationships in the blogger community.  Even though I created my blog: SocialFashionistaBeauty back in 2013, I still consider myself a newbie to the blogger world. Because in this last year, I decided that I wanted to fully committed to creating new content for my blog as well as building a brand for myself. And it’s so great to meet other bloggers and exchange ideas, gain exposure/experience, and become more familiar with those locally.

Nowadays, social platforms like Instagram has played a big role in helping many bloggers/creatives type like myself build their brands, gain exposure for our respective blogs, while also creating relationships in this rapidly growing community. I just LOVE looking at different IG feeds and seeing what others find beautiful. For me I believe in the phrase, ” I aspire to inspire.” I feel IG is a great source for just that. It also gives you a little insight on what others Love and admire in life. And not to mention it makes us happy too.  For others it may not have the same meaning, but for myself it’s been quite inspiring and uplifting. A simple photo could mean nothing to one person, for me I see it as a form of art and something beautiful. And for me I try and see the beauty in everything, no matter how simple or extravegant it may be. And just by liking eachothers photos or quotes and exchanging a few meaningful comments we start to build and create relationships with such great people. Who have become great role models to me as a new blogger.

Instagram has become such a powerful channel for so many. I will admit, as of late I’ve become a little IG obsessed.  But I truly admire the beauty others see in anything and everything. Blogger @browneyedtoast and I expressed our experiences with instagram and what it means to us. We also exchanged ideas and thoughts for our respective blogs.  But we equally shared the same feelings on how instagram has been a great source for creating relationships with other bloggers.  I hope to continue to meet and create new relationships, to inspire others, engage and exchange ideas and help others in the community however I can. I also hope to work and collaborate with people in the blogger community in the future. If aren’t following or haven’t seen @BrownEyedToast instagram feed you should.

She has some great photos on there it and its DEFINITELY worth checking out.  Keep a look out for her blog which is launching soon.

Cheers and lets continue to: engage, empower, inspire, stengthen, support and love one another one photo or blog post at a time. 🙂

Who have you met that has inspired you?

What are your thoughts of Instagram and other Social Media Platforms.?

How has it influenced you or made an impact on you?

I’d love to hear from you, share your thoughts with me.
