SFB Beauty with Esqido

Natural is beautiful, but make up is always glam.

I’ve always enjoyed testing and trying out new make up products. Although, my go to look is more on the natural side I love to glam it up every so often. I love to have fun with products and try different looks, great for special occasions or even to try on some of my clients.  I particularly love playing around and trying different types of lashes too. Lashes can definitely add drama and glam to any look but can also be very natural at the same time too.  I have your typical asian long lashes, but fall straight.  I love long, full, luscious lashes with curl and lift.  I’ve always loved how the look of full, luscious lashes. I would often get my eyelashes done with extensions. Although the trend and habit looks great, it can be costly and at times a little hard to maintain. But you’re in luck, I have an alternative with all the same qualities and so much more. Looking for the same look without the cost and maintenance? Here’s how you can achieve the same look and effect without spending so much. These have become my go to favorites lately and I’ll be featuring them in my beauty favorites post coming to the website soon. They’re at a great price point, high quality, easy to apply with all the same luxury that eyelash extensions has and but so much more. The process may seem daunting, tedious and a little tricky. But once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty simple. The alternative– luscious, luxury, mink lashes by Esqido.

I’m all too familiar with faux lashes and what I’ve noticed, some can be harder than most to apply and not to mention heavy on the eye. Lashes by Esqido are lightweight, easy to apply and absolutely beautiful.  Esqido specializes in luxury mink strip eyelashes, and ever since launching their lash collection a few years ago, they’ve garnered crazy interest by so many.  They’re lashes have been seen on the Victoria Secret Angels like Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Gigi Hadid, and A-list celebs like Rihanna, just to name a few. Discover ESQIDO’s mink false eyelashes. Meticulously handcrafted, every pair is incredibly soft & lightweight, stunningly beautiful, and unbelievable natural looking. I’ve partnered up with Esqido to tell you all about there amazing brand, why you should get your hands on a pair(s) and why you’ll absolutely love them!

Thank you to Esqido for sending me these two gorgeous pairs of lashes. I am so grateful and absolutely love them. I wore them to a recent event I attended and they certainly glammed up my look. They were super easy to apply, super lightweight and easy on my eyes. They’re soft, luscious and absolutely stunning. You can see the before and after in the pictures seen here. You can easily notice the vast difference. Even without all the glam, they can be wore for a more natural look as well. See my full glam look featuring the BFF Esqido Luxe Mink Lashes.

Here’s a step by step on how to apply, remove and care for your luxe lashes : https://esqido.com/pages/how-to-apply-and-remove-false-lashes .

Rise up Together to Empower, Enlighten and Inspire

Posted on: February 9, 2017

Hi Loves!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Can you believe it,  just yesterday  it was 60 degrees in NYC and now a blizzard? Oh, mother nature always full of surprises making a big entrance, LITERALLY (LOL). Today, marks the the official start to NYFW. I wanted to share this post with you all.  I hope this will enlighten, empower and inspire us all during NYFW and in life.

Stay warm and be safe out there loves!!

Recently, I’ve been hearing all sorts of stories over Lady Gaga, her body and what she wore during her Super Bowl Halftime show. I don’t know about you, but I thought she looked ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Her immense talent, fierce fashion and killer body proved all of that during her performance last Sunday. That night overall was truly something, make that epic and a night to remember. My question is, What are all the haters talking about and why are they harping on Gaga? I don’t see why anyone would hate on her, what she wore but more importantly her body. Well, as the saying goes, “Haters are gonna hate!”  But strong, fierce, fashionable, chic women like Gaga rise above it! I truly admire women like Gaga, Gigi Hadid, Ashley Graham and many others celebrities who have spoken out about body shaming. We should all love ourselves no matter what shape or size.

Many of our youth struggle with this issue of body shaming and we all need to stop the hate.  I’ll be the first to admit I too, felt ashamed of my body growing up and even as an adult I deal with this issue from time to time. I work in an industry where everyone is both small framed and for the most part skinny. I may not fit the nor of being super skinny or small framed, but I’ve learned to embrace my curves and LOVE  the skin I’m in. Don’t get me wrong I have my moments where I feel out of place or uncomfortable but hey, I’m human. The female body is such a beautiful thing and we should admire it for all it’s beauty. Remember, we’re all beautiful inside and out! Never let anyone tell you otherwise!!

Here’s what Lady Gaga had to say to her body shammers:

“I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too. No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don’t need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That’s the stuff of champions.” “Thank you so much everyone for supporting me,”  “I love you guys.”

All I gotta say in response to Gaga’s statement: PREACH GAGA, PREACH!!

Another story that caught my eye is in regards to the controversy over Vogue’s March issues cover. Plus size Model, Ashley Graham is breaking the mold and posing on the cover of Vogue alongside beauties like Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner.

Ashley Graham recently tweeted: Thank You @voguemagazine I’m so incredibly honored to be one of your March cover models! #breakingboundaries

The March issue {hits stands on February 21st} is devoted to differences in beauty and the celebration of Women being Fearless!  Yay, Women do rule! The future is female in my eyes, no offense to all my male readers and all the men out there in the world.

The controversy many are questioning is — the cover isn’t as diverse as many thought it would be. As you can see, a gorgeous plus size model posing with her fellow beautiful yet skinnier models. Some are going as far to say that Gigi Hadid’s hand was elongated and extended out (through the workings of photoshop) to conceal Graham’s torso. Many fans are speculating if the magazine was trying to conceal Graham’s body.??

Despite all the social media uproar, misconceptions and disbelief Ashley Graham defended the Vogue cover. In her most recent Instagram post she stated,  “I chose to pose like that. No one told me to do anything.” Even though many may have their misbeliefs and opinions, the March cover speaks many volumes and has an empowering message outside of what misconceptions may be lingering.

To me, I felt that these two stories needed to be address and shared. I know that both women have inspired me and gave me more reason to love me and my curves. I’m all about inspiring and empowering all my readers and followers. Lady Gaga and Ashley Graham both do that and continue to rise above it. Their words are not only encouraging but both inspiring and empowering. Both women promote body positivity and break the barriers in this sometimes harsh, opinionated industry of Entertainment and Fashion.  I hope we can be enlightened and moved by them and rise up together. No matter what shape or size you are, love yourself. You are beautiful!

What are your thoughts on these two stories?

How do you rise above the bodyshammers?  Please do share using the #SFBBeautiful #SFBInspires

As always, thanks for reading, following and supporting me in my journey.

Get the Look all the Celebrities are Rocking: 3 Ways to Wear a Choker

Posted on: August 19, 2016

If you haven’t joined the bandwagon, this is the time to do so.  This simple accessory has been around for for awhile, but has evolved over the years. Here’s another fashion trend that can be worn in so many different ways and you can’t go wrong. In the last year, we’ve seen the necklace trend go from extra-long pendents, to big, bold statement pieces and now the opposite end of the spectrum: chokers that encircle tightly around the neck. This could in fact be the next natural step from the skinny scarf look. Which is another way to style this look. Many celebrities like: Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Taylor Swift have sported the look. EvenBloggers and Vloggers like: Chriselle Lim, Heart Defensor, Jessi Malay and many more have rocked this look. It’s easy to pull off the choker look. It’s easy to see the appeal to this 90’s grunge style. The look is easy, effortless and goes with just about any outfit. It also acts as a built in scarf, an accessory that compliments your look overall. I’ve always loved taking a basic outfit to the next level, just by accessorizing the outfit with jewelry, and other accent details. A look that’s been seen all over and what’s great about this look, it can be worn all year round. One of my favorite styles and one I like to rock on the regular. Can we say, LOVES IT!

Here are 3 ways you can rock the look:

Jeweled and Beaded Accents

               choker-4 choker-2 choker-1  choker-5

Shop the look:  Petits Bijoux Station Choker Necklace    Petits Bijoux Two-Row Choker Necklace

Shop the Look: Hero Metal +Leather Necklace Set   Vanessa Mooney Velvet Choker Necklace

THURSDAY LIFESTYLE/INSPIRATION: LOVE THE SKIN YOU’RE IN

Posted on: October 1, 2015

This week famous Model Gigi Hadid strikes back and addresses negative remarks/comments on body image and body shaming. She states in her statement,

“No, I don’t have the same body type as the other models in the shows,” Hadid wrote on her account. “I represent a body image that wasn’t accepted in high-fashion before.”Saying, “Yes, I have abs, I have a butt, I have thighs, but I’m not asking for special treatment,” the model is not letting the haters get to her.”Your mean comments don’t make me want to change my body, they don’t make me want to say no to the designers that ask me to be in their shows, and they definitely don’t change the designers opinions of me.” (http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/29/entertainment/gigi-hadid-body-shaming-feat/)

She’s walked the runways for so many famous high-fashion Designers like Chanel, Versace and many more. But she speaks the truth and is honest. She doesn’t looking like other models and she’s more volumptuous than most models seen on the runway. If designer want her to be in their show, she’s in it, if not, then she’s not. Simple has that. But to be honest, why would she want to be like every other model out there…?? I mean her look is what sets her apart from others. We are  all created different and beautiful– am I right?? We are all beautiful in our own ways and in our own right.

Negative comments in regards to body shaming and body image has been prevalent within our society for many years now. It’s an endless cycle that never ends, and it’s really sad. We shouldn’t succomb to the hate, we should go with the times and change our way of thought. We need to stop being negative and learn to love ourselves and one another. Everyone has a right to freedom of speech, but at what cost.  We are all made differently and unique in our own way. God made us the way we are and we should be proud of it. We should all learn something from this.  We were all created different for a reason, making us unique, original, and unlike anyone else. I believe in what Gigi Hadid says, where we should look to inspire one another rather than putting others down. What good does that do, when you put others down……?

Some of us are tall and thin, some of us have curves,  we are beautiful no matter what size or shape. We should be proud and should be able to love the skin we are in. People are ALWAYS  going to make comments, its part of life and nature.  Is it ever right– the negative that people say, NO! But we can’t control what people say or what comes out, whether positive or negative. Like Gigi Hadid, we have to learn to stick up for ourselves and just say, screw the haters! Haters are gonna hate, no matter what. But who cares, you are beautiful, remember that! Some people say things because they have nothing better to do with their time, or they themselves have their own insecurities. Whatever the case may be, let them say what they want, because only you and those that matter knows what’s true, and that’s what matters most.

We are who we are, and Gigi Hadid says just that and more in her own words and truth.  We shouldn’t feel the need or the pressure to change who we are or what we look like just because people say so, or it’s what society tells us to be.  Be who you are and don’t let others hold you down and make you feel like you have to be something you’re not. Stay true to yourself, and always love YOURSELF, and the skin your in. Remember it’s the only way to be, I know it’s easier said than done but it’s the truth. Love yourself, and hopefully one day, others will see the beauty in that. All I gotta say in response to Gigi’s post is , Well said, and Thank you. Couldn’t have said it any better! You go Girl!

What makes you feel comfortable and beautiful?

Love the Skin your in!

Haters Gon’ Hate, but I know I love the skin I’M in!
