Hi my loves!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far! Remember to continue to stay positive, keep the good vibes flowing and continue to vibrate higher. Some days can be harder than most but just remember that all your hard work will all be worth it in the long run. Trust and believe the process and journey!

For this entry, I’m talking all about fashion, strength and body confidence . To me, fashion, strength and body confidence goes hand and hand. When you look good, you feel even better. You know the saying, it’s all mental and its’ all in the way we think about things. Practice self love and be your own cheerleader. A positive mindset can go a long way. A strong mindset goes a long way as well. Stay strong even though it can be hard at times, keep fighting and keep pushing through.

Many of us forget to love ourselves and the skin we’re in. This is the result of being constantly put down by others, or we listen to what society dictates. We then start to criticize ourselves we begin to self doubt. STOP RIGHT THERE! Most of us fall into the demise of others words, and what media and society standards are on how we should be and look. We need to learn to block it all out. Easier said than done, yes I know, trust me.  We’re all created different for a reason, remember that.  When we learn to accept who we are both on the inside and out, we start to believe in ourselves, our self worth and we begin to love ourselves as a whole. We must block out the noise, the nonsense and begin to hear our own voice. Listen to that voice, own it and believe it. Don’t listen to the nonsense. Be the voice not the echo of all the haters out there.

Over the years, I began to say, Screw that, and f**k all the haters. ‘Cuse my language my loves, but I’m being real, completely honest and straight up as I’ve always been. I’ve learned that people will always have something to say. There will always be critics. But just remember, strong is always beautiful and confidence is the most sexiest thing that anyone can wear. Trust and believe that, it’s an amazing feeling and extremely powerful. For me, I have had my share of being picked apart, and body shamed over the years.  At times, I thought I wasn’t pretty enough or even beautiful. Whether we like to admit it or not, we all have our share of insecurities, me included. We need to stop focusing on the negative and focus on the positive. We can’t let our insecurities define us, because if that happens they will run us. Remember, never let self-doubt or your insecurities define who you are, EVER!  I’ve worked in the Entertainment, Beauty and Fashion industry for over 11 + years and I’ve seen what this industry can do to one’s self-esteem. I’ve seen first hand how it can damage one’s soul and make you feel insecure about your body image. Which makes me even more inspired and empowered to write this and share with you my experiences. Which is why we need to love ourselves in every way shape and form. We’re all beautiful in our own way. Never forget that!

We tend to forget ourselves and how beautiful we really are because we feed into the nonsense and the noise. DON’T FEED INTO IT.  No matter what anyone says, we have to love ourselves first. Remember the childhood saying, Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me…. Words can hurt, but we have too look beyond the words and look within ourselves first. Sometimes, we can be too hard and too critical on ourselves. We need to be more gentle and kind. Live and learn to love ourselves and the skin we’re in. Never forget that my loves. I know it’s easier said than done. Trust me, I’ve had my struggles and doubts. I’ve had haters say things to my face about how I look. But you know what, you will always have your critics. They will always have something to say. Honestly, that’s a reflection on them and their own insecurities. We need to learn to lift each other up, be more compassionate with ourselves and others and not put each other down. Be kind to yourself and be kind to others. Kindness goes a long way, trust and believe that.

For me, I’ve had my share of body image issues. But, I will say, I’ve learned to love myself and my body just as I am. I’ve owned my own beauty and sexiness and I can truly say that I love me and I’m comfortable in my skin. I’m may not be the skinniest Filipina, I have curves, I have big breast, a big butt, but hey this is me and I love my body and my curves. I own it all and I’m proud of it. This is me and I love the skin I’m in and so should you!  You will never fit the mold of what others and what society says, but why would you want to? Be you and be authentic always.

Beauty comes from deep within. A women’s true beauty is reflected in her soul. When you have a beautiful heart and soul it shines from within and it shows on the outside. Love yourself my loves, don’t let the media or anyone tell you otherwise. Learn to be comfortable in your own skin, treat your body like a temple and own it. You are in control and you have the power. It starts from within, remember that. Remain positive and block out the negativity. I know it’s easier said than done, but no matter what others say, believe in yourself that’s what matters and that’s what counts.

Find the your inner strength, own it and be one with it. Your strength will help guide you in everything you do. Believe in yourself, and own it. Be your own kind of beautiful and show the world that you LOVE yourself and the skin your in. Own your curves, own that beautiful body because you are beautiful both on the inside and out.

If I’ve learned anything in all these years, it’s to love yourself first and foremost. Embrace your body, every inch of it. Be gentle with yourself, be kind to yourself. It’s all mental, that’s what it boils to, change your mindset, be positive and let your confidence shine. Keep shining my loves. Ok, I may be rambling at this point, but the point is to love yourself first. Don’t succumb to what other’s say, remember you are beautiful. BE comfortable in your own skin. Confidence and strength goes a long way. Confidence is beautiful and sexy.  Own it and be your own kind of beautiful. Always remember, you are strong, you are confident you are sexy and you are beautiful. Love the skin your in my loves!

THURSDAY LIFESTYLE/INSPIRATION: LOVE THE SKIN YOU’RE IN

Posted on: October 1, 2015

This week famous Model Gigi Hadid strikes back and addresses negative remarks/comments on body image and body shaming. She states in her statement,

“No, I don’t have the same body type as the other models in the shows,” Hadid wrote on her account. “I represent a body image that wasn’t accepted in high-fashion before.”Saying, “Yes, I have abs, I have a butt, I have thighs, but I’m not asking for special treatment,” the model is not letting the haters get to her.”Your mean comments don’t make me want to change my body, they don’t make me want to say no to the designers that ask me to be in their shows, and they definitely don’t change the designers opinions of me.” (http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/29/entertainment/gigi-hadid-body-shaming-feat/)

She’s walked the runways for so many famous high-fashion Designers like Chanel, Versace and many more. But she speaks the truth and is honest. She doesn’t looking like other models and she’s more volumptuous than most models seen on the runway. If designer want her to be in their show, she’s in it, if not, then she’s not. Simple has that. But to be honest, why would she want to be like every other model out there…?? I mean her look is what sets her apart from others. We are  all created different and beautiful– am I right?? We are all beautiful in our own ways and in our own right.

Negative comments in regards to body shaming and body image has been prevalent within our society for many years now. It’s an endless cycle that never ends, and it’s really sad. We shouldn’t succomb to the hate, we should go with the times and change our way of thought. We need to stop being negative and learn to love ourselves and one another. Everyone has a right to freedom of speech, but at what cost.  We are all made differently and unique in our own way. God made us the way we are and we should be proud of it. We should all learn something from this.  We were all created different for a reason, making us unique, original, and unlike anyone else. I believe in what Gigi Hadid says, where we should look to inspire one another rather than putting others down. What good does that do, when you put others down……?

Some of us are tall and thin, some of us have curves,  we are beautiful no matter what size or shape. We should be proud and should be able to love the skin we are in. People are ALWAYS  going to make comments, its part of life and nature.  Is it ever right– the negative that people say, NO! But we can’t control what people say or what comes out, whether positive or negative. Like Gigi Hadid, we have to learn to stick up for ourselves and just say, screw the haters! Haters are gonna hate, no matter what. But who cares, you are beautiful, remember that! Some people say things because they have nothing better to do with their time, or they themselves have their own insecurities. Whatever the case may be, let them say what they want, because only you and those that matter knows what’s true, and that’s what matters most.

We are who we are, and Gigi Hadid says just that and more in her own words and truth.  We shouldn’t feel the need or the pressure to change who we are or what we look like just because people say so, or it’s what society tells us to be.  Be who you are and don’t let others hold you down and make you feel like you have to be something you’re not. Stay true to yourself, and always love YOURSELF, and the skin your in. Remember it’s the only way to be, I know it’s easier said than done but it’s the truth. Love yourself, and hopefully one day, others will see the beauty in that. All I gotta say in response to Gigi’s post is , Well said, and Thank you. Couldn’t have said it any better! You go Girl!

What makes you feel comfortable and beautiful?

Love the Skin your in!

Haters Gon’ Hate, but I know I love the skin I’M in!
