Perfect for just about any outing. I also took the look from being dressy to chic casual just by changing up my shoes. Although, my go to look is all black I’m looking to add more color to my wardrobe especially since the weather is finally starting to get nicer and I think it’s safe to say its Spring in NYC. This entire outfit is absolutely perfect for the springtime too!! See all the details below and shop my look!! As always loves stay fashionably fabulous!! XO

SFB Takes on NYFW FW17: Hakan Akkaya

Posted on: February 11, 2017

Hakan Akkaya presented his runway collection on Day 2 of NYFW. I didn’t know what to expect at all. I was fully intrigued and waited with anticipation with other influencers, tastemakers and celebrities who attend the show. The anticipation and excitement always gets me super pumped for any show at NYFW. The show was not only fierce it was electrifying. From the music to the fierce and edgy models you craved for more. Both men and women rocked the runway in mixed metallic patterns paired with the all black ensemble.  The entire collection was very rocker, chic and eccentric.

It was interesting to see designers express their political stances through visual interpretation by way of their collections. You couldn’t help but notice the distinct political undertones seen on the runway that day. Akkaya and his collection spoke volumes and many truths in some of his pieces shown that day. It was both enlightening and liberating!

The show was not only visually stimulating, contagious but inspiring without question. The background music set the tone for the show with its edgy remixes which complimented the entire collection and vibe. This was definitely a crowd pleaser ending with a standing ovation. I couldn’t stop raving about this show, as did many NYFW attendees.

Congrats to the Turkish designer, bravo!

SFB StreetStyle Chic: Denim Style

Posted on: November 18, 2016

So here’s a fun fact about me– during my college days I worked at Jasmine Sola in Boston, MA. While working there, I met some great friends, learned about fashion merchandising and got first hand experience working with the various brands we carried. In addition, I found myself becoming a denim specialist. I learned about various denim designers, the different styles and what style worked for each body type. When shopping for denim, I always say, “It’s always best to try on denim, see how the fit looks and if your derriere looks great their a winner!” Aside from that if they make you feel like a million bucks then it’s a win win. During my retail days, I enjoyed seeing my customers walk out of the store happy and feeling good about themselves, and I was part of that. I’ve always had a love for fashion, but working at Jasmine Sola made me realize my passion for fashion even more.  Since working at Jasmine Sola, my love for fashion and labels have evolved over the years. I will admit, I’m always on the hunt for a fresh new pair of denim to add to my closet. My favorite jeans back then were: Seven Jeans, Joe’s, Paige and Citizens For Humanity to name a few. Nowadays, some of my fave denim brands are: Frame Denim, DL 1961, BlankNYC Jeans, and Rag and Bone.

These ones right here have become a personal favorite lately. The distressed, ripped styled make these great for a chic street style look. As you can see here, I’ve paired these jeans with a simple button down top, loafers and a scarf. Although the look was so simple it was still comfy and stylish all at the same time.  This made for the perfect outfit to walk around the streets of Edinburgh during our visit to the UK back in late August, early September. You can wear this look just about anywhere and you’ll be looking fabulous! If you want to take this look from day to night, add some killer heels, a moto jacket and your favorite lipstick for a pop of color. And just like that you’ll be looking like a badass fashionista ready to hit the town! (Shop my favorites for a night time glam look) Shop my Look below.

Happy Friday Loves! I hope everyone is having a fabulous day and week. I wanted to share this outfit and photos with you from our trip to the U.K. back in September. I know I’m a little behind on my travel diaries post, but don’t worry it’s coming to the blog VERY soon. Stay tuned!

My husband and I travelled to the beautiful U.K. for our Anniversary trip. We were celebrating 3 years of being happily married. Here we are in Edinburgh, Scotland. While in Scotland and the U.K. we enjoyed the beautiful Fall weather along with the gorgeous foliage and crisp air on this side of the world. If you ever get the chance I highly recommend you visit Scotland and all over the U.K. it’s simply magical.

During my travels, I like to feel cozy, comfy but stylish all at the same time. This was the perfect outfit to walk around and tour the city. These flats by the way are the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever owned. We walked were the ultimate tourist walking and explore all over. You’d think my feet would be so sore, but they felt glorious. Be sure to check out the brand: Gentle Souls by Kenneth Cole, it’s like walking on clouds. Trust me you’ll love the brand and your feet will be thanking you. Not only is this outfit comfy, stylish, casual, but it’s also perfect for Fall. The bomber coat is so on trend right now, you’ll want to jump on the bandwagon and get one for yourself. Not to mention, a great staple piece to have in your wardrobe. And this bomber jacket right here is still available at Zara for only $39.90. You can’t beat that!  Shop my look and get all the details to my outfit below. I hope everyones having a great week and enjoying the weather back home!

Fall Fashion Edition: Fall Outfit from Day to Night

Posted on: September 30, 2016

My New York look in full effect. It’s so basic,  yet so chic all at the same time. For the daytime I like to feel comfy, and this is a great casual and chic look.  For a more daytime casual feel, as I’ve done here, wear flats. For the night time, throw on a pair of heels to make this outfit sizzle for a night out on the town. My favorite heels to pair with this outfit: Jimmy Choo Kiki Suede & Fringe Heels. In addition to the heels, change up your lip color to be night time ready. My suggestion would be: a bold red lip or even a deep mave or brown lip color. My favorite Fall shade lipsticks are: Bobbi Brown’s lipstick in the Shade Cocoa and Tom Ford’ Lip Color Matte in shade Ruby Rush What I love about wearing all black, it’s a look that’s so effortless and stylish. An outfit so basic, you just need to accessorize it to take it to the next level. I’m a huge fan of accessories! With the right accessories, you can make your outfit POP! If you’re looking to take your accessories to the next level, and you’re looking for unique, stylish and chic jewelry, head on over to my boutique: www.chloeandisabel.com/boutique/emilydesouza.
