It’s been a great winter so far. January was the perfect time to decompress, reflect and settle into the new year. It’s February and you know what that means….. Time for the fun and madness to begin all over again. This is my favorite time of year and as a New Yorker, I’m thrilled that we get to enjoy two seasons of it every year! NYFW!
This season, I kicked off NYFW attending my first two events of the season. My NYFW began with an event that wasn’t just about fashion but an event to bring hope and to empower those in need. Here’s a personal fact about me: I’m all about giving back and bringing awareness to causes and organizations that have a positive and profound message behind it. This event brought together influencers, celebrities, public figures and more to enjoy a night of fashion, live performances and of course the launch of The NYLON PROJECT. This is an amazing project founded by Jordana Guimaraes, an initiative to aid the homeless in NYC through fashion + entertainment via a viral #ItCanBeYou campaign. Homelessness is a real thing that many of us don’t even think about because it isn’t happening to us. We may not be experiencing the struggles that many are facing all over the world, but it could happen to any of us at any given time. It’s happening now in our society and many of us see it but sometimes don’t want to face it. The evening brought us all together during NYFW to highlight the current circumstances of those in need. I’m happy to take part in this project and honored to have attended the event. The Nylon Project begins in NYC and with our efforts, the project will go globally.
The NYLON Project

Special thanks to CommGroup (branding agency in Brazil), as they assembled the logo/branding concept for The NYLON Project. They designed the logo to implement an image of the streets/sidewalks, since that’s where “home” is for the homeless.
